I know this idea is probably long done with however i just wanted to get peoples thoughts on this adaptation of the Lost and Damned list.

A few of us over at Wargamer AU came up with this a while back but for some reason no one seems keen to allow them.

Basically its a list that uses ALL current rules for the Chaos and Lost and damned Rules sets effectively cutting and pasting over the parts where the rules no longer worked after the update in order to make them legal again.

This list has every option that was available, however the only changes in rules are... The Arch Heretic option, The Wargear for Aspiring Champions, The Wargear for Traitors and Mutants, Gibbering Hordes, The rules for Daemons and Daemonic Beasts. Everything else remains the same as per the Chaos codex and Eye of terror list.

Please let us know what you think.

HQ's:
Arch Heretic - Chaos Sorcerer or Chaos lord from Codex Chaos Space Marines Page 92 and 93.

Aspiring Champions - Points cost as Per EoT codex.. with the following options for their wargear selection.

No Mark - Use options for the Aspiring Champion on page 96 of Codex Chaos Space Marines. May not Take Icons!!

Mark of Khorne - Use options for the Skull champion page 98 of Codex Chaos Space Marines.

Mark of Nurgal - Use options for the Plague Champion on page 97 of Codex Chaos Space Marines

Mark of Slaanesh - Use options for the Noise Champion on page 97 of Codex Chaos Space Marines

Mark of Tzeentch - Use options for the Aspiring Sorcerer on page 98 of Codex Chaos Space Marines

Mark of Chaos Undivided - Use options for the Aspiring Champion on page 96 of Codex Chaos Space Marines, However he counts as having the Icon of Chaos Glory.

Greater Daemon - As per the Codex Chaos Space Marines (summoned greater daemon) Page 102 , does not use an HQ slot.

Allied HQ - As Per EoT codex - Chaos named characters, Daemon Prince, as per the Codex Chaos Space Marines Page 90, 91 ,92.

ELITES:
Big Mutants - As Per EoT codex

Possessed - As per the Codex Chaos Space Marines page 95

Daemon Packs - Use the Lesser Daemons in the Codex (counts as elites not troops & does use up an elites slot).

Allied Elites - As per the EoT Codex. 0-1 of either Chosen Chaos marines, Terminators, Dreadnought, Khorne Bezerkers, Thousand Sons, Plague Marines, Noise Marines, Chaos Space Marines with Chaos Icons (other than Chaos glory).

TROOPS:
Mutants - As per the EoT Codex.."Mutant Boss may purchase ONE item available to the Chaos Space Marine Aspiring Champion entry on page 96 of Codex Chaos space marine. May not take Icons)"

Traitors - As per the EoT Codex. "Agitators may purchase ONE item available to the Chaos Space Marine Aspiring Champion entry on page 96 of Codex Chaos space marines. May not take Icons)"

Gibbering Hordes - No longer used

Allied Troops - As per the EoT Codex. 0-2 Chaos Space Marines with Icon of Chaos Glory or no icon only. As per the Chaos Space Marine Codex page 96

FAST ATTACK:
Traitor Recon - Sentinels, Rough Riders, Hell hounds. As per Imperial Guard Codex.

Chaos Hounds - As per the EoT Codex.

Daemonic Beasts - Summoned lesser daemons. As per the Chaos Space Marine Codex page 102 (does use up a fast attack slot).

Allied Fast Attack - As per the EoT Codex 0-1 of either Chaos Bikers, Chaos Raptors. As per Codex Chaos Space Marines page 99.

HEAVY SUPPORT:
Chaos Spawn - As Per EoT Codex.

Defiler - As per the Chaos Space Marine Codex page 101.

Traitor Tank - Leman Russ, Basilisk. As per the Imperial Guard Codex.

OTHER RULES:

(1) A LatD sorcerer whom takes the Gift of Chaos power. The Spawn stat line and VP's are taken from the Chaos codex entry not EoT.

(2) Chaos Icons other than the Icon of Chaos Glory have no effect on Non Chaos space marine units.

Ah yes. Gotta love it!

I've contemplated this as well, and I like what you all have done. Loss of gibbers is too bad, but I think the drop keeps in line with your drive to line up with the new CSM book. My issue is with the AC upgrade options:

- AC w/ MoK has +1A and SC options but does not have WS5 or fearless (isn't a berzerker)?
- AC w/ MoN has +1T and PC options but does not have FNP, I3 or fearless (isn't a plague marine)?
- AC w/ MoS has +1I and NC options but does not have fearless (isn't a noise marine)?
- AC w/ MoT is a psycher and has AS options but does not have 4+ inv save, a force weapon, inferno bolts or fearless (isn't a 1k Son AS)?

The first three are just me double checking your intention, as the EoT upgrades coincide with what the new Icons of those gods do. But MoT is a real problem, as the EoT upgrade and the CSM Icon do different things now, and the AS's options do not include any weapon options. I presume you want a Tizz AC to have a force weapon, but remember that the 1k Son AS costs like 60 points, which gets him a 4+ inv save, force weapon, inferno bolt pistol, fearless and access to psychic powers.

Yep. The Champion upgrades work just as they do in the Eye of terror codex.

The eye of terror rules read....

Thanks to the Champion’s rather more ‘solo’ career Marks of Chaos are altered as follows;
• Mark of Khorne: The Champion has 3 Attacks on his profile
• Mark of Nurgle: The Champion’s Toughness is 5. The original value
of 4 is used for calculating Instant Death.
• Mark of Slaanesh: The model’s Initiative becomes 5.
• Mark of Tzeentch: Th Champion gains the Sorcerer ability.
• Mark of Chaos Undivided: Re-roll Morale checks.
(i Removed the Points costs)

So each champion gets the upgrades listed above from the eye of terror codex and then get the options from their Chaos codex equivelant (as they would have with the old rules)

Basically it means that....
They are a standard Aspiring Champion with either a Bolter or Pistol and CCW then you get to pic an EOT "Solo" variant icon and get the following options.

- Standard Champs and Undevided champs get - Power weapon, Power fist, Combi bolter, plasma pistol and melta bombs.
- Khorn Champs get - Power weapon, Power fist, Plasma pistol, Melta bombs, Personal Icon.
- Nurgle Champions get - Power weapon, Power fist, Plasma pistol, Melta bombs, Personal Icon , Combi Bolter.
- Slaanesh Champions get - Power weapon, Power fist, Plasma pistol, Melta bombs, Personal Icon , Combi Bolter , Doom Siren.
- Tzeentch Champions Get - Melta bombs, Personal Icon and One Psychic Power from the List in the Thousand Sons section (no force weapon or AP3 bolters or 4+ inv save )

As for being Fearless and berzerkers ect. In the EOT rules the units never got those ability's. So neither do these ones. Only the Equivelent options that they would have been allowed in the Old dex, just with a tweek to the new rules set.

So the Tizz AC really does amount to a psychic 'gun' for the unit. Or gift of chaos if the mutant mob hangs around for a turn. Or warptimed melta bomb. Works.

Yeah i saw that before i posted it up . I did a seperate post because the above list is a finished rules set using all current rules and references that members of my local forum had worked on. Its a "patch" to the rules that allow them to be used with the current chaos codex

The ones on the link you are working on seemed to be a WIP all new rules set with some rules and units being made by yourselves . Hence why i made the new post to get feedback on our finished Product.

Ah yes. Gotta love it!

You guys did a very good job. I'm going to stop by your forum and check out the brainstorming process.

As someone who is very familiar with chaos, and Lost And the Damned being my favorite army, I can say you patched it into 4th edition well. When I first got the new Chaos Codex, I thought to myself "Well, if the army wasn't unbalanced with an allied 200 point daemon prince, with daemonettes and obliterators and the ridiculous 3rd edition chaos armory, then why can't I just cut/paste the new rules into the old ones?" I also didn't know what to do about the Daemons as sorta troops, and the Greater Daemon; because the spirit of the old rules was that the Greater Daemon occupied an HQ slot - but now with the new chaos codex, it looks like we can get 3 Aspiring Champs, A greater Daemon and an allied Daemon prince if we desire.

There is only a few places it glitches, such as the daemonic beasts and nurglings you pointed out.

I will admit that the loss of the daemonic beasts (my obvious selection was always Furries) hurts quite a bit. They were very affordable and survivable fliers that the army doesn't have otherwise. I was fond of the obliterators as well, but I'll deal. At least now I can sneak a dreadnought in if I really want one.

But for me the army was always a pair of defilers, about 90-120 mutants and a few champs guiding the mutants.

I do have one question though, and I'm not sure if this breaks any rules, but has anyone from your forum reworked the LatD army file for army builder EX yet? That personally would make me very happy, rather than having to reference my three different codex's when I want to build an army.
