Just finished listening to this episode and the interview with Mike was pretty good although I would have loved to hear a bit more about the composition of his army, some of his more challenging games throughout the year (what opposing armies gave him the most trouble) and what, if anything else, he managed to win this year besides the Adepticon championship.

Even so, good stuff and I guess you could I say I was just left wanting more, which is always a good thing!

As for the user submitted Tyranid army list, I personally think it was a disaster and I think you guys kind of do him a disservice by not telling him flat out when he has taken some terrible choices.

Frankly, I just have so many issues with his army list in general that it would take me quite a bit of typing to just to start to list where I disagree.

Perhaps if I'm ever a guest on your podcast we can have a friendly back-and-forth about Tyranid army list construction (among other things).

Anyway, regardless of my thoughts on Tyranids, as always I enjoy your show and look forward to more.

P.S. I fixed the link in your original post. You have to include the "http://" part (I embedded it in the link).

Could you post the original and the updated Bug lists on the 40k Radio site (or on this one, assuming the Admins are ok with it)? Please and thank you!

I have to agree with Yakface. I actually ended up skipping the rest of that segment (and I don't even play Tyranids). Other than that the show was really good and I look forward to the next episode.

I also really enjoyed the Hobby U segment (again!). I may have to branch out from my comfortable citadel and foundation paints. I'm looking forward to learning about the other types of paint out there.

Oh, and Spencer, the latest episode of Podhammer is out...

Oh, I just wanted to note a couple of technical issues I had with the podcast:

I downloaded it via itunes and I had several audio glitches throughout the episode where a word or two here and there would just drop out. Not enough to douse my enjoyment of the episode, but definitely noticeable.

Also, a few times throughout the episode Phillip is talking but whatever he is saying is pretty much impossible to hear as it sounds like he was too far away from the mic to be heard.

I noticed the same "word drop" problem, but it wasn't just with this latest podcast. I also noticed the problem in Spencer's interview on... I think it was Podhammer (maybe Drop Pod Cast) as well as on another podcast called Astronomy Cast (see my sig!). I'm wondering if it doesn't have something to do with iTunes (I suppose I should upgrade to the latest version, although I'm only one version behind).

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1

I loved the show. Great interview with Mike. He's a great player. I agree with Yak, that the Tyranid list was a disaster. I would have made some different choices as well, but that is why the game is played. I listen to mine on iTunes and I had no problems. Are you guys listening to iTunes on a Mac or PC? Looking forward to the next one.

That Tyranid section will be such a great help for my girlfriends struggling bug army.

Thanks for the feedback on Episode 6. New equipment means new problems. Hopefully they will all be worked out in Episode 7
