I had a similar situation where I had been running a fairly tame kreoss melee list and went up against a shooty haley denial list. He just keept hanging back and plunking away and preventing my charges.
It wasn't a massacre but it was obvious I wasn't going to win as soon as deployment was finished.
I've had that situation pop up on more than one occasion. I look at it as a learning experience, since you will soon find out how to avoid being shot to pieces.
Kreoss usually owns Haley, just lamentate and upkeep it with two redeemers and choir. I do hate Haley though as she just makes games drag out forever with TB.
