I take drop troops in my Guard army. Do I make one reserves roll for the Platoon, or one reserves roll per squad and the command squad?

Likewise, with Last Chancers sub units...one roll for the unit, or one per sub unit?

Thanks!

As per the Reserves rules, you make one roll per FOC slot.

For last chancers, it depends how you have them setup.

Each unit is considered a separate unit, so you roll for each one.

Example:

If you take 20 last chancers and split them into 5 units with the two extra HQ models assigned to their subunits; you roll 5 times. Once for each unit.

I'm not disbelieving you, Stelek, but based on Insaniak's interpetation, how did you come by how Last Chancers come in? I can immediately see the problem of using one roll as per the FOC chart as they can take up HQ and Troops slots. I just want a valid coherent arguement to use in case I meet someone who is using them on the other side of the table.

Duh I just found the line that says each sub unit is kept in reserve.

I would say it depends how you split them up. They can take up multiple slots. Roll for each of those slots.

Correct. The last chancers 'satisfy' the need for a HQ and 2 slots but do not occupy them.

The HQ's get attached out to the units you choose to create.

These units are individual units, and should be rolled for separately as they do not deploy all at once.

They can have 5 units, and if you recall...5 chimeras. 1 for each 'unit'. If you deploy them all together, please show me how you deploy transports across multiple squad formations.

Answer: This is 40K. You don't, you can't.

Don't make life difficult on yourself, just deploy them separately.
