I've decided to start an eldar army and the banshee phoenix is the spear tip of my assault arm. The problem is that its possibely the ugliest eldar model I've ever seen. Its like they modeled Dee Snider from Twisted Sister.

So I've been looking for a female elf model that looks cool/exotic/mean enough to green stuff some phoenix plate to her and add her weapons to. Unfortunately I haven't seen much around. The only thing that I've seen thats good enough is Morathi on her dark pegasus and I'm not yet willing to pay 40ca for a pegasus that won't be used. Just wondering if anyone on the board had any ideas. GW halting the sale of individual metal bits is brutal for us conversion nuts.

I'm running into the same type of problem creating my own warp spiders using the new avenger plastics. The bloody warp packs are unavailable individually. I'd be grateful for some guidence regarding either of these conundrums.

The Wood Elf lord with the greatweapon could maybe be modified in some way, no? Or perhaps a Callidus Assassin, or St. Katherine from the witchhunters?

Not really elves, but there's Anima Tactics:

They're also larger in scale than 40k stuff, but aren't all the
Phoenix Lords? Dunno.

Thanks for the ideas. The wood elf lord with great weapon has a sweet pose, but looks too much like a brooding male elf. I suppose I could cut off his head, swap it for something plastic and model a sister style brassier on the model. Though I don't know if my green stuff skill is good enough. I'd hate for my phoenix lord to turn out looking like victoria beckham.

The callidus might work. Theres more to do to it, but its mostly little cosmetic things to make her look more banshee/eldarishy. My only problem is that the poses of both models kinda suck. In fact nearly all of the assassin models have lame poses. The sniping vindie being best, head holding eversor honourable second and the calidus is just funny.

Unfortunately I owned the saint and that model is way too sistery and imperial to pull off as an eldar. Those anima tactics models both look pretty good. The one in the second link has a really believable Zar pose. Wouldn't be hard to G stuff a little light armour. I find myself wanting to keep her helmetless. Now I need to figure that out. None of the phoenix models are any larger than normal models. I had Baharroth and Maugan Ra. Ra looked beefvior due to his pads and gun. It would make sense for them to be a bit larger though wearing 2+ armour.

Thanks again for the links and food for thought.

Reworking the Lelith Hesperax model might work. I'd take off the fins on her shoulder, and convert the trident into something less silly. Add a lower half to her mask and you're pretty golden.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!
