So I actually went and bought this to use as my 500 point list to learn the game with.

Skorsha
Juggernaut
Destroyer

9 Iron Fang Pikemen + Unit Attachment
Widowmakers

Manhunter

Looking forward to putting it together and with some luck I can get some games in on Weds night.

The list looks solid to me (grain of salt: I'm not very good at
actually playing the game).

Have you considered playing out your first few turns
in your mind regarding focus allocation, spell casting,
to run/not to run units etc?

My proposed list exactly! But all my figs are back-ordered. I'd love to hear how the list fares on the field - battle reports svp!

Thanks for the tip Malfred, I'll go through and do that a couple of times when I'm bored at work tomorrow.

I appreciate the feedback, and I will post a battle report of what goes down. I'm still new, but hopefully this works out well for me. Can't wait to get some games in, that's for sure.

I've got it all put together, except they were short one IFP blister, so I've only got 8+UA instead of the 9, but I'm sure I'll be able to get by in my games. Once I get my last blister, these guys are getting based and I'm starting to paint. F

Yay, it's good to see a list with 2 jacks. I'd like PP to make it mandatory to take 1+ jack in 350, 2+ in 500 etc. IMO it's wrong seeing armies of all infantry. I could play 40k or WHFB if I wanted to fight that way. Bring on the Jacks!

40k: Draigowing, Nurgle DG, Space Wolves, Eldar, Demons
WHFB: Dwarves, Lizardmen, HE
WarmaHordes: Legion, Cryx, Khador, Trolls; Menoth

I don't see anything wrong with hordes of infantry at all. The
infantry is what got me into the game.

Solid first list (and good on you for staying mostly 'Primed'). You will win games and be competitive, and still have a lot of fun. It's a nice mix of infantry, 'jacks and solos

Some things to consider (mostly obvious stuff, but I find I forget the obvious stuff too often)

Consider using the Juggy to screen your IFP (and have Sorscha run interference) until your caster can Icy Gaze most of the army, and bring 'em in for the killing blow. Don't forget that Icy Gaze now is only her LOS, not everything in her Control Area.

Destroyer is going to be your go-to utility 'jack. Don't be shy about using him in melee just 'cause he's got the big cannon.

Widowmakers and Manhunter are for harassment. Take out unit leaders, pesky solos (Alexia, Jr., GMCA, etc.), and artillery crews, as well as small units (Aiyana & Holt, Herne & Jonne, etc.). Don't expect them to bring down 'jacks or even light warbeasts (maybe small based ones, like rippers and harriers), but they can bring some serious hurt. Manhunter should be stationed near the Widowmakers so they can work better in tandem and protect each other.

With the IFP: 11 figs are a lot to maneuver, especially in Shield Wall. Make sure you don't plug up your charge lanes. The UA does mean you can charge across difficult terrain (like woods), so use that to your advantage. And make sure to charge them! They're tough, but they can still die, especially if your opponent sends a dedicated monster after them (Black Ogrun, Trollblood Champions, Bokur, Carnivean, etc.). And watch out for AOEs, as Shield Wall doesn't help with that.

On Two Jacks: While they don't have any 'freebies' (like the 'zerker or Kodiak), The Juggy and Destroyer are two of your more focus-efficient 'jacks in the game, and are solid choices even after all this time. I still find myself using one or the other. Very little is tougher than those two 'jacks and they bring a lot of pain.

The only 'downside' to this list is that with 19 VPs you have to be a little more careful in certain scenarios where that's more important than 'caster kill. Fortunately, you're stuff is pretty resilient, but don't get greedy with the Manhunter (for example). Nothing to worry about per se, just be aware of how many goodies you bring to the table.

As you play and you start looking for some variety, Consider losing the Manhunter and one IFP and bringing in a kovnik to 'jack marshal the Destroyer (yeah, that'll put you at 501, but in friendly games no one will care). Likewise, consider bringing in a mortar, or two, or some Greylords in place of the Widowmakers. 2 mortars and the Destroyer's Bombard does very interesting things to your opponent's deployment strategy, mostly to your benefit.

In the meantime, play this list and have a lot of fun. Very solid and a nice mix of models.

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil

In my humble opinion, if you want to fight with no 'Jacks that's fine. I do, however, think that PP should make it a little harder for infantry to take on Jacks. It seems that a big lumbering metal killing machine shouldn't be able to be taken down by a bunch of crunchy little men with pea shooters.

Thought begets heresy. Heresy begets retribution.

Good list. I face that one from time to time.

And it's Sorscha, BTW, not "Skorsha."
