Hello all.
First time poster, long time 40K gamer (since 1st edition) and my main army is the Tyranids. Don’t ask how big. Seriously.
Me and my friends are getting back into 40K after a 2 year hiatus and looking to put together a MEQ army. I was going to go with Chaos, but the new codex has REALLY turned me off. So at this point, it’s looking like marines.
The theme I’m going for is a chapter that’s very adeptus machanicus like and uses lots of dreadnaughts and vehicles. I believe the Iron Hands chapter would fit the theme but their color scheme is way too boring.
Does anyone know of any other chapters that would fit the theme I’m going for?

You can still use the Iron Hands rules. Just claim them as a successor chapter.

That or some other Ultramarine successor that likes using lots of bionics (and uses the Iron Hand traits).

Thanks for the info. I was looking around trying to find possible successor chapters.
I’m also considering Salamanders since they have tech marine gear and the whole blacksmith theme.

Have you considered making up your own chapter? That's always a fun option, and removes a lot of the creative limits that you might impose on yourself trying to build an "official" chapter.

And we came up with some great names in the recent thread about chapter names...
