After hearing about the new starter set for 40k will include orks and space marines, I got to toying around with the idea of starting an ork army. The only issue with orks is "How does one make them stand out against a sea of similar armies of greenskins?"
Then, while walking through the local wal-mart I passed by a DVD display and one of the movies on the shelf was "A Clockwork Orange". This got me thinking about the movie before he went to jail and suddenly BAM! I had my answer: Orks themed after the movie! Because what ork doesn't like a "wee bit of the ultra violence"?
I'll throw some greenstuffed top hats on them, paint their clothes in that trademark dingy white, replace all their choppas with walking canes/clubs and give the warboss that nifty mark under his eye! Of course, this will have to wait until the new box set comes out and I still haven't figured out how to theme the vehicles to match, but I'll file that one under "cross that bridge when I get there".
Does anyone else think this would be an awesome way to set my boyz apart on the table top?

It also gives me an insane idea for a diorama with a warboss tied down in a chair with his eyes pried open being forced to watch old videos of Tellitubbies.. but alas, my modeling skills are not nearly as capable as a task like that would require..

Nurglitch- Sadly, I had to look that up on the great interweb to remember what that reference was.. hurray for cod pieces!

I don't even KNOW anymore.

For the vehicles, you just need to model them after the "Durango '95" and make sure they purr away real horrorshow.

I like the idea of a mobile milk bar. That's just hilarious! Anyone got any ideas for converting the Deff Koptas?

This seems like an awesome idea. I might steal it for my ard boyz. Although Id have to with Bowler(sp?) Hats as well as top hats.

For the Koptas, why not just make them gigantic top-hats, or something similarly ridiculous? That would make your army very memorable; who wouldn't remember the guy with the top hat helicopters?

This idea is made of what Anthony Burgess would call "Really Horrorshow".

You should have a bartender in the Korova sporting a white decapitated grot with white liquid spewing out of its neck representing the Moloko-plus.

Heh heh, a bunch of white grot mannequins leaking out milk out of severed stumps.. That would solve the issue of how to avoid getting too naughty with my battlewagon to be able to show pics of it here without it getting deleted by the mods..

Yep, to be done right you need bowler hats, not toppers.

Remember, it isn't an eye tattoo, but fake eye-lashes over just one eye. That will be even creepier on orks

Bowlers. Derbies. Not Top hats. It is the cap that Charlie Chaplain wore.

Hm... I like the concept, but I wonder what the new orks will look like. If they are as bland as the current Battle for Macragge ultramarine minis (sort of all the same pose) then I doubt that you could make the force look reasonable without more extensive conversions.

I mean, I played back in 2nd ed when we had tons of Ork and Marine armies using the one-pose plastic minis, and they always looked so bad...

ah yeah.. I meant bowlers.. It's just been a while since I've seen the movie and I could have sworn there were top hats involved.. That and top hats would be arguably easier to greenstuff than derbies..
