Guys, here is my list that I have won about 90% of my battles with. Great army, but I know it is not perfect. If anyone sees something they would do different, please let me know. I'm looking to enter this years GT's and need to build a tough list. Thanks for all your help.

Cut and paste from the response on the IG list, figured maybe others could provide input to it.

Don't see Cameleoline listed for the Storm Troopers.
Also not sure how you intend to use them, as you don't
show either Deep Strike or Infiltrate for them. And
taking them also uses up your 5th doctrine to have
them. Personally, I'd use the Veterans doctrine and
get two more squads of hardened vets. More guns, free
deep strike due to Drop Troops, free infiltrate, same
BS and LD, sgt has access to Officer only items. Only
drawback is lesser save.

Sentinels. Split them up, at least into three
squadrons of two, using up all your fast attacks
slots. You can even drop one into the HQ. Gives you
more scoring units, more deployment options, better
tactical flexibility.

Tanks, smoke? Extra Armor? I personally prefer hull
Heavy Bolters.

All in all, I think it will have problems with horde
armies, say Orks with three mobs of 30, just can't
kill enough of them fast enough. And once they reach
you......... ... And of course, any other IG army
......... Fairly well set up to deal with MEQ, altho
any shooty MEQ will give you a hard time as a lot of
your anti-MEQ is melta short ranged weaponry.

Which GT you looking to attend?

drop the storm troopers and pick up more vets with the doctrine that lets you do that.

also drop the sentinels for another leman russ and some hellhounds. that way you have lots of the greatest IG tanks rollin round to hammer your foes

finally you don't need the light infantry doctrine for anything at all so you can save points from that

Your list is trying to be too flexible, IMHO.

For example...you have meltaguns and a heavy bolter in your command squads, with drop troops and cameloline.
Meltaguns are short range, heavy bolters are long range. If you infilitrate or set up with range, the heavy bolter is great, but the melta's are useless. If you drop in to meltagun something, the heavy bolter is useless. Same with the cameloline and drop troops doctrines....if you drop in, you probably won't be getting a cover save, and will be gunned down. If you are setting up in cover, the drop troops goes to waste ( course, its free, so take it anyway).

I find units do their best when specialized for a task. If you want a drop trooping tank hunting command squad, ditch the c-line and the heavy bolter. If you want a long range shooty unit, ditch the melta's. ( Heavy bolters work best btw in large numbers).

I play my guard modelled after something I read in War as I Knew it, by some guy named Patton. He thought that in an infantry division, the tanks opened the way for the infantry. In an armored division, the infantry opened the way for the tanks.

So.....I use my infantry to wipe out tank killing units, and then use the tanks to mop up the infantry and seize objectives. You can do the opposite....use the tanks to take out the enemy infantry killing units and move your infantry around.

Flexibility is for Space Marines. Play to the Guard's strength: lots of shooting.

I dont know where you are playing but whatever. Here is my advice. STormies are a terrible buy when compared to vets. ALso I assume you took stormies doctrine otherwise you list is illegal. Trade it for a vets doctrine so you can field 3 squads of vets. Most of my experience with sentinels are negative. They are at the top of my DO NOT TAKE LIST.

What are you planning on doing with your vets. You have a hvy wpn with drop troops. Are you dropping them or not? If the hvy bolter in case you don't drop em?

I dont think your comand squad set up is the most efficient. Most people use em to drop in some plasma. or kill tanks. They just seem confused as to what thier job is. Anti tank specials with an anti infantry HW WTF?

"Do NOT ask me if you can fire the squad you forgot to shoot once we are in the assault phase, EVER!!!"
