The AT-43 rules now have an errata.

http://www.rackham.fr/newsletter/cry_online/img82/Errata_AT43_US.pdf

Soft caps on RP.

Along with the house rule changes to IF I mentioned earlier being now official, there is an interesting change to activation sequence.

And before anyone interprets as activating the same units several times in a turn, Collin Kelly stated that you can only activate a squad one time per turn. (unless you use propaganda)

There could be some better wording in there, but it is good for the most part.

These guys will never satisfy north american gamers with their Grammar. They've refused since CF1 to hire anyone outside Fr for their translations.

It's WAY more intelligible than the old stuff...

Good stuff in here though. I just wish this game had rules for playing in something more detailed than a warehouse though...

Yeah, the containers do indeed get boring rather fast.

Though we have found its not that hard to use your own terrain.

Oh, I'm not implying it is... it just requires some friendly agreement for what counts as what.

We just ported the area terrain concept from 40k (it works fine, as the cover systems in both games are mostly identical). Woods give a 5+ save to units more than 50% in the template. Rivers with crossings halve your move through them. etc. We were also thinking about adding in a 'Go to Ground' order that costs 2LP and combines 'Take a Knee' with +1 Cover save, but you forfeit your ability to shoot (not available to AFVs).

My UNA is all repainted in Fieldgrey with green patching and based woodland so we can use our existing tables. My Therians will be done something similar.

The Damocles campaigns is cool and all, and I'm sure Frostbite will be cooler... but like with most things my gaming group is taking AT43 and doing our own thing with it. It's the only way to fly!

Agreed. Thank goodness it is easy to do with this system. They give you enough to give you a rough idea how to go about it, mimicking their rules.

Take woods for instance.

Woods templates are size 6, if a model is atleast partially in the wood template, then the model(s) get the benefit of its cover (5+ as everything else, unless using "Take cover" drill), you have to be within 10 cm of the edge to see out and be able to fire or be fired upon, otherwise models are completely obscured, half movement through it (rush allowed, as any bonus movement is really frickin' minimal), no vehicles are allowed to enter.

It mimics how cover works in the rest of the AT-43 mechanics fairly well, and its pretty easy to deduce this rule from how Rackham writes it.

As long as both players agree as to whats going on, its a good'un.

Agreed! The rules are fairly derivative (the universal resolution table is pretty much just another view at the GW wound table with X being the attacking value and Y being the defensive value, with a one point shift so that +1/-1 isn't hugely relevant) so for most experienced gamers the whole system will 'feel' fairly comfortable and intuitive.

If you're big on it Hellfury, you should do what some of the other Dakkaites did with 40k mods and print up a downloadable sheet of your 'advanced' houserules.

I'm enjoying AT43 as it's nice and simple... a good break from the top-heavy feel of Infinity. It's nice to actually be able to use units again!

The basis of the old " find attack score vs. defense score intersection on chart to find result: no effect, stun, wound, or kill" mechanic goes back at LEAST to Ogre.

It's probably far older but Ogre was the first game sci-fi wargame I played so it's my own personal myopic reference point.

I got twelve short-height blue stone walls from Pegasus hobbies to add some more terrain. Not that I see a lot of crotch height blue stone walls in real life or anythign but they look nice on the table. Maybe I'll get some armor cast industrial "tank and pipe" stuff and rubble piles too eventually.

Are the reversable tiles worth buying?

While the universal table, in how it functions isnt anything new, they way they make it is genius. One table to rules them all. Easy to memorize, less looking crap up, just make maneuvers and roll dice.

On the topic of the reversible tiles.

Yes, they are worth buying, as it is a quick and easy way to set up a table. But it isnt complete. What I mean by that is that you are going to need a 3'x4' piece of plexiglass to cover the tiles after you're done laying them out, as they shift alot during the game.

I can't play a miniature game on a board. I need scenery... not flat pictures of scenery. But for me the models and the visual element are really important and I enjoy making boards as a relaxing break from painting minis.

I'm likely one of the rare 5% of folks who's repainting all his AT43 stuff anyway.

The one table system is nice and simple. I like it! It's easy to memorize too once you've got the sliding scale down.

I found some old necromunda crap in a shoe box crammed under my bed tonight and really an enormous amount of green 6 sided dice(like 30+) that I don't remember ever buying.

Any way I have some plastic lock together walls to add to my sad little table terrain collection

I also found some orlock and goliath juve plastics(12 of each) to mess around with now, along with some Copplestone gangers, a few copplestone hazmat troopers, and a whole bunch of 25mm Ral Partha battletroops pilots and soldiers. I found five copplestone power armors too but only enough arms for 4.

I also found a DVD copy of G-Savior down there. Lol.

But anyway I have some free crap terrain and some nice weird figures to play 5150 with now.

Good times!

Maybe I can find some way to use some of these gang guys in AT-43 through some home brew rules. Maybe I'll have them fight three therian golems or something and try to get to the exit alive before more therian reinforcements show up.

Rackham said recently that they are releasing "AT-43 Tactics" which is very necromunda-esque.

Is this it ? (The campaign stuff based on The article from From Cry Havoc 15)

http://www.confrontation.fr/newsletter/cry_online/img70/CH16USTACTICS.pdf

Or will it be a separate upcoming product?

They'll be expanding that into a seperate product.
