So after spending the better part of 2 days fooling around trying to get an ice blue and yellow color scheme to the point that I was happy with it, I scrapped the whole thing and went back to my black and silver roots. Rather then just rebuild the old Black Cross chapter though, I adapted my old color scheme to support the new Chapter's theme and concept. It became necessary to rebuild after looking at my old models and realizing that those few that weren't out of date because of their armaments were in such dire needs of being repainted that it would be the same effect as painting a new Army anyway. I'll post background for this chapter after I've finished ironing out the last few bugs. Below is the first combat squad I've finished. Please give me constructive feedback on ways to improve. The primer is Krylon Glossy Black, highlights were picked out in Mithril Silver, and the whole model was inked black and then drybrushed Shadow Grey. I'll comment on each on as I get there.

The three tiger stripes on the right shoulder indicate that Squad Jatayu is the third tactical squad in the company. The left should has a (very poorly) handpainted version of the chapter symbol that is supposed to look like this:

It is quite hard to see detail as your pictures are quite small and blurry so I cant give comments on that. The colour scheme is decent, but the green is definitely too overpowering. Try using dark angels green, or even a dark angels green + black mix instead of the green you have used, then do a little bit of edge highlighting in a marginally brighter green. That should give a decent contrast with the red but not overpower it.

Yeah, turns out my camera is less than ideal. The green was snot green with an ink wash and then drybrushed goblin green. Making it darker should be easier. I'm putzing around with the FAQ right now and seeing if I can get some better pics.
