In Australia and New Zealand and a few other countries in the Pacific we have ANZAC Day on April 25th with dawn services and marches (by vets, current armed service members and a few other organisations) in every town and city across the land.
One ghost town in the Queensland Bush which lost its last resident over 20 years ago gets over 200 people turning up, with more every year.
Every year Americans who come over and watch the services and parades always say that they should be doing somthing more like us for their vets and current troops.
