Starting my newest 40K army. Basically a Chaos legion devoted to Nurgle called "Wretched Legion". I'm trying a new painting style with this one. Mostly I'm a pretty detailed painter, I decided that this army would be mostly drybrushed. Very fast and I like the faded look it gives the models. My main inspiration for the color scheme was this link which I found here:
http://www.miniaturespace.net/images/More%20Images/Nurgle%20Dread/Nurgle%20Dread%20Front.jpg

I changed the colors somewhat, but I liked the "quartered heraldry".

This dreadnaught is a full conversion project basically using the standard metal GW chaos dread with bits and pieces both handmade conversions and also bits from the defiler model.

The camera kept blurring out the morning star CCw, but I think it can be seem clear enough:

and a family portrait for size comparison:

been having a good time with this one, hope you guys think it looks cool too.

Next: 1st squad. I'll post pics when they are ready.

I'll base all the models once the army is finished.

It looks awesome - Im definitely stealing the CCW.

Overall its great, but the guns on the side of the CCW look a little tacked on. The pot-belly is great though, especially with the bits inside it.

Armies Owned: Iron Warriors, Tau

Undead Titan Log
Malfred: Terminator Armor has always had room for extra boobage.
Drake_Marcus: It's true- that's why the Space Wolves love termie armour so much. The whole "bear" thing they've got going on is just a thinly veiled cover-up of their huge, hairy cleavage.

Sure thing, I made it using the chaos symbol from the defiler, (i think it's supposed to be a standard sticking up behind it), and green stuff for the ball, the spikes in the ball are bits from the Chaos rhino dozerblade attachment.

Thanks for the compliments.

The pot belly disturbs me because, well, it seems a bit lower on the model than a belly normally would be. Kind of more between the legs shall we say.

Otherwise you know superb painting and green stuff work. I certainly wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of a giant ball covered in spikes like that. Not that I'd want to be on the receiving end of a giant ball Not covered in spikes either.

Uh, definitely my first thought too, spreading the spores of father nurgle with his love-mace, and all that :S

Agreed. Digging the quartered scheme on Nurgle, and nice conversion of the ol' metal dread. The defiler gun though is mounted pretty far out from the body, doesn't look like it integrates close to as well as the dread cc arm.

Nice work all the same, gooo dread

I love the extreme conversions that you can get from a chaos force- especially from a Nurgle force. If they hadn't changed the codex, my nurgle force might still be in play.

This looks really wonderful.
