I've just received my washes in the post after ordering them and am very keen to get to work with them. Only problem being that I won't be able to do any painting until the weekend....
I was just wondering if anyone else has had the chance to use them at home on their own models yet, rather than just tinkering in your FLGS?
Any further thoughts on them? Tips? Tricks? Piccies would be nice...
Thanks!

Let's see...
Watering them down isn't necessary at all.
But you can water them down. However, doing so makes them behave a bit more like inks than washes.
You can slather them on and let them creep into the corners. But you don't have to, you can put it just into the recesses and it stays there.
They take a long time to dry, especially when compared to foundation paint.
That's all that really comes to mind at the moment.

Slather. Blow on it lightly to get in the recesses. Let Dry. Just that simple, really.

That's what I thought, having had a little play with them in the shop. Just wondered if anyone has had more use out of them at home and found anything new about them...

Thanks Skeeve! Really good to see some examples. That daemonette is superb, especially considering the absolute simplicity of the painting method. Really impressive products to get that sort of result. I guess I'll have to wait until the weekend to have a good tinker with them myself....

I am excited to try these out. I am a big fan of glazing, and washes. I liked their inks a lot when they were out. From what I have seen at the FLGS, these look like they are cool to work with. This is a lot coming from me, I really don't like GW's hobby/painting products very much.

Any idea on when these will be released? I'm really pumped about them, as it will help make my painting go much quicker.

After seeing some results, it really settles the matter for my Ork army. Ork skin gets the Iyanden Yellow base, then the green wash. Skin is done for lots of boyz.
Thanks for the information.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby. |
