Is there no way that GW could drop this range and come up with some cool looking IG snipers? I know Ogryns are a non human range but IMHO they fir the 40k universe better than ratlings. They removed the 'cartoon' style of the Orks and managed to turn them in to a more brutal race, so why not make some decent sniper units.

There are some really nice sniper models available for guard from GW already. Check out the GW website.

There are rules as well as models fpr Imperial Snipers, the ratlings have a few special rules and a different profile.

They're good for putting in a forest (paint clothing/armoue greeny browns) and watching your opponent forget about them for not being able to see them well, then gets shot down by what he didn't see! Quite funny by all accounts.

Besides,GW needed something small for the imperium, or everyone would think there were no smal people in the future, we all evolved to be big or something absurd like that

GW just needed a Halfling type for 40k, it runs runs with the space elves and dwarves (but they're gone now)

If you don't like the models just get the cadian or catchatan sniper models and use the ratling rules for them.

Thats what I was planning to do, I think the ratlings are silly looking too. You can use em for fantasy if you want halfling handgunners though

Yea they have nicer metal ones or Buy Marine Scout Snipers and convert them.

Ratlings are good for taking down anything that usually would be very tuff to shoot, but IMHO ther a waste of a doctrine. If you didnt need a doctrine to take them, theyd be excellenté.
