Subject: Big Mek Stompa - Advice and help needed!

Hey folks, I haven't posted any of my work here before but I'm working on painting a scratch built Big Mek Stompa and I'm trying to figure out a few things that are listed below.
1. Weathering the machine to look more orkish. Or should I?
2. Adding more detail. What does it need?
3. Coloration of the vehicle. I'm terrible at picking colors, so let me know if something should be changed.
Here's the link... Big Mek Stompa
Any comments and criticisms are welcome. I am by far not a professional and just wanted to make something big and fun for the orks I have.

(And yes, I did post this same thing over at B&C...)

Looks really good. Is that guttering for the panels?
It might not hurt to give it a ton more rivits, then give it a nice basic color scheme. While ork stuff is lashed together out of various things, they usually seem to stick with one main color (for whatever demented reason the Mekboy had).
On that note, have you ever played the old Epic game for the PC, "Final Liberation"?
They have a really good example of a stompa on there. Google provides me with a single image:

Aaand then I scroll down and see the other pictures of it. Very well done.
I don't see very much that needs improvement; but I do stand by my rivets remark. Needs more.
Edit: The blue on the gun seems out of place. Maybe it's just me.

Well, I was trying to find a color that would set it apart and make it look like the 'eldar' equipment that I'm meaning it to be. Perhaps I could find a different set of colors that would make it look different, but still blend in.
The rivets had been something I was considering. Thanks for the input.

It looks pretty cool, am thinking of making one myself now. What did you use for the gigashoota? And how many hours has it taken you so far?

Looks to be half of an old nerf gun, an idea that worked out so well I might have to steal it myself when I settle about to making a stompa.
The one bit of advice I can give would be to weather it. That thing desperately needs to get dirty! Oil stains, dirt, mud, all manner of grime. There are a ton of guides floating about the net, but you could start with Grey Death's article on tank weathering to get you started on the right foot.
