Does anyone know how to strip only a specific spot without messing up the paintjob of the entire model? I've got a piece of iconography I've tried tidying up the details on too many times and now it's lost most of it's details.. Am I just stuck with the loss of details unless I want to strip the ENTIRE model or is there some trick to painting I haven't learned yet?

This is totally anecdotal, but for what it's worth...

I screwed up on the cloak of a PP model (meaning pewter, not plastic), and was able to strip it right down to the bare metal (through Krylon black primer, several coats of Reaper acryllic, and even a little Future floor wax) using a Q-tip dunked in Tamiya acryllic thinner.

I have no idea if those results are typical, or if it will work on plastic, but it might be worth a shot for you. Good luck!

Well, I tried your trick with the stripper I had been using (purple power) and all that happened is that the stripper dried. Eh, I hadn't really expected anything else to happen in all honesty. Instead of going to the store and buying some thinner and risk getting it everywhere on my model and possibly ruining the paintjob and/or melting the model I just whipped out my hobby knife and carved off the icon and sanded the area smooth. Then hand primed and repainted the area. It looks good and I had started to get annoyed with the look of the icon anyway, so I still file that as a win. Thanks for the heads up, I will try it out in the future if/when I think about it while I'm in the store.
