Hey all,

I love to model, hate to paint. I am working on building a full Ultramarine 2nd Company but have yet to paint anything but for a few choice models. I have no set pattern to painting and what i do paint takes forever. I was wondering if any painters here could give me some clues to how I should paint the bulk of my standard marines in mass. Most of them are primed black, then base coated with Foundation Mordian Blue, but for the rest (and those yet to be built) I may use an old can of Ultramarine Blue i found on top of the black primer. I was wondering how well you guys might think a wash from the new wash set might look over either of these.

Once I get a decent camera in, I'll post two examples of what I'm capable of (which is not much) using Mordian Blue, then drybrushed with Enchanted Blue. Also, any suggestions on how to paint cloth? I am not satisfied with my work on the oaths.

Here's a project log of some ultramarines I'm working on with my kids:

If you look at the pics at the bottom, those were sprayed primed Ultramarine Blue, didn't even bother starting off with black, and then washed with Liquitex Paynes Grey, though you could use the Badab Black wash too.

Here's a Cygnar Charger that was started the same way

It's a very fast and painless way to get them at least tabletop quality

For cloth, try Bleached Bone and washed with Devlan Mud
