Hi,

As a new member I though I'd show some of my recent work, I've hardly painted anything since going to Uni 5 years ago, I churned out more each year at home than I have in total since leaving, but I'm getting back into it now,

Nicely done, I like the flames on the Brazier. I do think however that the robes on the top henchman blend in a little with the dirt, so maybe a dark wash on the dirt well help to seperate them. Thats pretty minor though, so overall good work!

Drake_Marcus: It's true- that's why the Space Wolves love termie armour so much. The whole "bear" thing they've got going on is just a thinly veiled cover-up of their huge, hairy cleavage.

Yeah, I'm thinking of putting brown static grass on the bases when I'm done, it'll make them look seperate, it's messy stuff though so I'll wait until a lot needs doing.

I know how difficult faces are, but there's a little much black on the dialogus' face, particularly around the eye augmentics. The Acolyte is brilliant, though - it's one of my favorite models in the Witchhunter range and you've done a great job on him.

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

I really like you painting- very neat and simple (I mean that in a good way). Good choice of colors too.

The bases need some work though.

Very nicely done, I hope to see more of your stuff here on Dakka!

And the rest. Are these still available from GW? I couldn't find them on their webside to find what each one was called.

I really like the purple on the cape on the guy on the right. Again though, the bases kind of blend in with the model. I think a darker base would really finish these guys. Its kind of funny, as you can see the improvement from the first images to these ones. The faces on the first ones are kind of iffy, but the faces on these ones are perfect, especially the sick looking guy on the left with the chainsaw.

These are the first figures I've painted in nearly a year, and I've hardly done anything in general since going to uni so I am getting the hang of it. I was worried my skills would have all ebbed away . And the faces are much better sculpted on these figures as well I think. I used to paint every night when I lived at home (them were the days)

I'm never sure with bases, I don't like grass so am thinking of using brown static grass to look like desert scrub.

Having a dig around...I did a load of Doctor Who figures years ao, must have been about 15 (getting towards ten years ago now)

Very nice. I especially like the really crisp highlighting on the clothing.

Could I be cheeky and ask what you used to highlight the purple?

The base coat was liche purple, from there I highlighted and shaded by mixing it with white and black.

Edited to add - I usually highlight and shade this way, I only tend to use different colours with red, because adding white to that makes it go pink.
