just wanted to see if anyone has an opinion on this book by graham mcneil. I was thinking about getting it.

I've read several 40k black library books and wanted to go fantasy for a change.

So.....good book? good intro to GW's particuliar brand of fantasy?

i read the book when it came out...
i am a much bigger fan of the pace and gunplay in the 40k novels, but i read pretty much everything that black library puts out...

the main question to ask yourself is, do ya like elves???
if so, you'll love this book...there are some great twists, and some good action...i enjoyed it, even if it is about a bunch of poofs in skirts...before the book came out, graham told me that he was gonna bring a harder edge to high elves, and i think he pulled it off...

if elves aren't your thing, i would suggest that ya pick up heldenhammer instead...for me, barbarians trump elves anyday...

cheers

appreciate that jah. I think I can handle the large numbers of elf characters just fine. I'll be picking it up this weekend

This will be my first graham mcneill novel as well but I've heard he's one of the better BL writers, do you talk to him alot?

right on...i don't think you'll be disappointed...

graham and i keep in touch...i used to live across the pond, and still have a lot of friends from hq(past and present)...

i definitely think that he's one of the top writers for gw...
his first novel(storm of iron) is still one of my favorites...
since fulgrim, he's taken a step up in the depth of mythos in his books, and BL has pretty much got him on a heavy schedule...writin' is like any other art form, the more ya practice, the sharper the skills...i think we have a long future to look forward to from graham...

cheers
