I agree with this core. I think we are going to be seeing a lot of this sort of thing.

Everyone likes Flesh Hounds. I prefer units of 6, but other than that I'm right with you.

Here's where I disagree with you. I think that if you go Slaanesh you need the banner that doesn't let the enemy flee. I'm not hating on the million mile charge, but I just can't get behind the whole "strength is one lower than it ought to be but we've got AP to make up for it" nonsense. I'd trade out these guys for the Keeper of Secrets to keep with your need for speed fluff. He's the fastest of all!

Heralds

I think you need to rework this HQ. It doesn't seem to cast terribly hard (2 level 2 mages and 3 level one's average out to a fairly normal magic phase) or fight terribly well. I mean, yes, they are able to keep up with your fighting elements, but I think you need more than that.

Masque

I haven't really tried him/her out in fantasy, but it doesn't mathhammer well. I'd say grab a third Herald to help out your rush.

All in all, fact is that Warhammer 40K has never been as balanced as it is now, and codex releases have never been as interesting as they are now (new units and vehicles and tons of new special rules/strategies each release -- not just the same old crap with a few changes in statlines and points costs).

Thanks for the first class feedback! Here is the list I am going with.

Mathhammer the Masque with bears anger on her and you'll see how she fits. Plus the ability to chage 360 degrees plus a nifty ability to reduce enemy leadership or movement which can't be dispelled or stopped. (Makes charging my fragile heralds much harder).

I agree with you on the hounds over the Fiends in CC capability but the extra 2 inches is calling to me man. Also I have some rocking mods, creating fiends out of two daemonet models cut into a centaur like critter (working on some great fluff for that too). I had to drop the icons off the horror squads to make points.

Let me know if you think this is better. I sure do!

The Banner of Sundering can be swaped out for Icon of Chaos Victory. Or if I kill 1 fiend for the banner of hell fire, or kill 1 fiend for icon of dispar and give one hearald a spell breaker.

In most games I would give lore of beasts to both heralds.

With boon of TZ this list has enough PD to shove magic down most High elf and Khorne armies throats. It is supremely manuverable. With Beasts it can take on gun lines and warmachines on turn 1. It avoids conflicts with big blocks and simply shoots them or rear charges them in concert with the fiends.

What I'd like to see lists with the Masque take advantage (abuse) of is psychology. I would take the Great Icon of Despair, and of course a model that causes Terror. I also wouldn't forget two units of Furies. If you're catching my drift, you'll see that it's plain dirty against non-itp armies. If you've managed to play any games with Daemons yet you should know that this list greatly suffers from the lack of Flamers, but I guess I can't convince you to drop the Fiends since they are essential to your theme.

Icon of Dispair is easy to add with the sacrifice of 1 fiend, or down grading a chariot to a Disk. The problem is that so many things are immune to psycology.

The LOC causes terror.

Also note that the masques ability will never assist in regular charge, The - leadership only applies between the friendly magic phase and the end of the enemies turn. So it does not apply durring friendly charge or movment phases. It can assist in a magically induced charge though, such as casting wolf hunts or other move in the magic phase spells.

Apart from worrying about giving up my fiends for the fluff I am working on I think going to a significant number of flamers that can not keep up with the rest of my army is asking for trouble, though I in no way am discounting the amazing abilities of flamers.

Dude Honestly if you want the masque to be godley do what I do with her. Bears Anger her then Steed of Shadows her she gets in combat the first turn into any gun line with a 40" charge and rips them to shreds. The Masque is the best character for 90 points. You get her into combat with the 8 strength 6 attacks no gun line will be able to survive.
