Registration:
To register, contact Larry Curtiss at lcurtiss1162@wowway.com by Thursday July 17th. Please make “Games Day Registration” the Subject of you email. Please also include your first and last name, whether you would prefer to play in the morning or afternoon tournament.
I will try to confirm all registrations quickly. If you have any questions about the tournament, feel free to ask.
Also, if you can submit your army list before Thursday, July 17th, that would be appreciated. No list is final until the day of the tournament, but if you made no changes from the time you submitted it via e-mail, you do not have to turn in a copy at Games Day. In either case, bring at least one extra copy for your opponents.
What to Bring
• You 500-point army (see restrictions below)
• At least two copies of your army list
• Dice
• Tape Measure
• A Pen or Pencil
40K Rulebook
• Your Army’s Codex
Tournament Rules
• All games will be played on 4x4 tables.
• The contestant with the most battle points will be the winner of the tournament.
• You must finish the tournament to win.
• For every battle point that you earn, you get a chance to win a bonus prize.
• Scenarios will be revealed throughout the tournament. The morning and afternoon tournaments will have different scenarios.
Force Restrictions
For these events, the usual force organization rules have been altered greatly to allow for a whole new Combat Patrol experience. Each player will need to bring one codex legal force with the following restrictions:
• You may have no more than 500 points.
• No models with 2+ armor saves are allowed.
• You may include selections with more than two wounds at the normal point cost, but you must change the number of wounds in model’s profile to two. Scarab swarms created by a tomb spider would also have two wounds.
• You may include ordnance.
• You may have no more than two models with an armor value
• You can have 0-1 HQ
• You must take one compulsory troop choice.
• You are free from taking mandatory selections and selection restrictions from your codex. For example, the Space Wolves do not have to take an HQ and Imperial Guard may take a conscript platoon without first taking an infantry platoon.
• You may not take a duplicate choice from the elites, fast attack, or heavy support sections.
• You may NOT add any upgrades beyond those required by the source codex to models with an armor value. (spirit stones, wrecking balls, HK missiles, extra armor, etc.)

I haven't played Combat Patrol. I was told that under the ROW Combat Patrol Rules that the ORks could 'break' the game by using Killer Kanz, or is it Canz. Does anyone have an opinion on this, and will these event specific rule changes alter the situation?

Thanks!

Your worried about killer kans when their allowing ordnance in their game?

Hope more old fools come to their senses and start giving you their money instead of those Union Jack Blood suckers...

Hi Guys. Please be aware that we have thought about things like killa kanz, and dreadnaughts, and defilers, and landraiders in writing our scenarios. People can take them if they really want to. I won't stop them from doing it, as the rules show, but trust me, it is balanced.

I'm guessing 4th since that's what's going to be used at the tourney. But then again it would be good to play some 5th too!

Are there even combat patrol rules in 5th?

Combat Patrol is awesome. Hope everyone has a good time.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil

War Walkers break this open much worse then Kanz. However, reading the rules again, you cannot take a dupicate choice from Elites, FA, or Heavy Support. So at best you would only get one unit of Killa Kanz or War Walkers.

Do minis have to be built/based, built/based/undercoated, or built/based/painted?

Also, your start time is listed as 9AM. GD doesn't open until 10AM. Is this somewhere other than the main exhibition hall or a typo?

Is there a max AV value (i.e. "true" Combat Patrols games are limited to vehicles below AV33)?
