Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

I was going to wait until I actually GET a job, but whatever. Andrew/ Stelek is gone so here is a little mini-drama-shot-in-the-arm.

I never introduced myself. My name is Scott. I am 30 years old, a computer programmer by trade. I also have academicy things I work on, on the side, and I am reasonably respected by professors in my province. I write letters to the editor, things like that.

I am a gamer, one of the ones that likes to play games to figure them out.

I started with an Atari 2600, Fighting Fantasy and Lone Wolf Game Books, which I still have. I wrote some rules for multi-player. Later on I got Hero Quest and played it for a bit around the same time I would go to whatever friend had a NES/ Genesis whatever. I also played Golden Axe etc at the 7 Eleven.

Somewhere along the line I got a 286 which was successively upgraded. I am a connoisseur of Hero's Quest (Quest for Glory) and other Sierra games, SSI Gold Box games, Ultima, ... Wing Commander ... I finished X-Wing and TIE Fighter. Etc, etc, etc. Civilization. Probably pretty standard fare around here. I am a hardcore fan of Fallout and Starcraft and I would like to meet Warren Spector someday. I would be interested in meeting people who code or have coded Angband variants, which I used to play.

What else happened. Went to school, had jobs and girlfriends. Somewhere along the line there was a tech recession and I took a couple years to play MMOs and 40k (a couple people I knew played, and I had always wanted to) while practicing my math, I wonder why nobody wants to hire me although that should change soon after learning the new web stuff.

I am a pretty hard core science fiction fan, moving is a chore. I don't know alot of the weird stuff from the 60's and 70's but everything earlier and older I am familiar with. As in books as in the Hugo and Nebula awards.

That's it I guess. I don't expect to have kids in the near future and I hope to hit some tournaments within the next few years. If that means moving to California, then so be it XD.

I am fond of this community, I am a DCM for a reason. I should have my own hobby blog up soon although it will just be for my own stuff.

Oh, and I play Eldar, Lizardmen, Legion of Everblight, Chaos/ Guard, Inquistion/ Guard and of course the Spaze Marinez!!!!

If people are still reading this, regarding the name. I just liked it because it is unique. "Everybody loves Tacobake." "Tacobake is a North American delicacy." In retrospect I could have used abcd### but meh. I also tend to be somewhat ... uh ... challenging (in a modest sort of way), so I wanted something friendly. You know, as opposed to "MY NAME IS BOSS_SALVAGE AND I AM GOING TO EAT YOU!!!!!!!'

I am on other sites, I got banned from Kotaku for being fun, for example.

Since your name is Tacobake, do you have an irrational fear of hungry stoners?

Or do you have a rational fear of them? Discuss.
