Subject: Miniature Scenery's City and Urban Boards
I was wondering if any of you have purchased (or seen up close) the modular City and Urban Boards from Minaiture Scenery from Australia?
I'm thinking of investing in them but $300+ is a lot to spend having never seen them up close. They look cool on the site but how do they go together? I know they're CNC laser cut pieces of thin wood that you must have to glue together in layers. Does that make them warp? Do the square modules "clip" together?
Any insight would be helpful, thanks.

They're plywood, so you'll need to seal them with a generous coat of pva glue along the edges. Think of wood as a whole bunch of teeny-tiny drinking straws glued together. If you don't seal the edges, moisture will get in and you'll wind up with warping.
You'll also want to get a primer designed specifically for wood and use that when you're ready to paint. This will seal the wood better than the stuff you use on plastics or metal and protect against moisture. Once the terrain is sealed and primed, you may want to put a texture coat on top of that otherwise the wood grain may show through and you're "stone" building won't look quite right.

I have quite a few things from them, all of it is very worth the price and time. Well cut and easy to clean up and build. Get some of the wood putty/filler in a tube to smooth over some of the joints. ( if you want to )
I highly reccomend them, War store carries a good range of it.
