I've started making my own exorcist as the current model was a bit too expensive for my tastes.
scrounged up 8 old style hunter killer missiles(which no one ever uses anyway)filed the sides smooth, and mounted them over some plasticard I'm using as my extra armor.
Cut some sprues to fit for support and instant exorcist/whirlwind. I must say that this is not a original idea I got the idea from Turnsignals on a landraider webcomic.

now I just have to make sure to fill in the front side armor and it's ready for painting.

Any chance you read Turn Signals on a Land Raider? The Whirlwind that been featured in his comic the past couple of weeks is done up pretty much just like this. It's an interesting design, but not one I'd do, just cause I really dig the turrets.

Any input on why the rear hatch has a chaos symbol on it?

Thats a skull with pointy arrows, from the chaos vehicle sprue.

Nice. There was a WWII Nazi tank like this. IIRC it was a half track with rockets bolted to the side, an obvious jerry-rig and not all that useful.

Nice design but like Aduro said not something I would like to do for the same reasons but very creative

The SdKfz 251/1? The Stuka zu Fuss was actually pretty effective for just tossing some rockets on the side of a halftrack.

I like your design though, good execution. I think the chaos bits should come of the back door and top hatch if it's going to be an exorcist, but that might just be me.

Personally, I think it would look better without the side skirts and with the rockets arranged more like they were on the German half track variant. The current size of each tube and the diagonal of the total make it look like it would rip off at the first large bump.

There's only 2 arrows on it now.. So whatever it may have been on a sprue, it certainly isn't on the Exorcist. It's a skull with two arrows.. could be anything.. in this case, it's obviously Imperial.. (since no chaos army that I am aware of can use a Whirlwind or an Exorcist)

the points have been shaved off and there are no chaos bitz on the model. if you are referring to the searchlight that is from the old Leman russ sprue.

That's a damned good idea. I may have to steal that and make some Stuka zu Fuss Exorcists.

Here's a pic of the real McCoy:

I like the concept, and I'm all for making your own exorcist because while conceptually cool, the gw model is poor. (I made my own as well)

I think it would benefit from a small modification. I made a crummy photoshop to illustrate rather than try to explain it in words.

Exactly what I was thinking when I saw it.

Though the Stuka zu Fuss itself would look best as a Manticore. It has a hardcore low tech look to it.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.
