My FLGS stopped selling green stuff just as I started working on my Dark Angels and I need some badly. I really don't want to order any offline, so what do you guys use instead of green stuff and where do you get it?

Thanks,

Walrus

I've never seen this kind of stuff for sale except in gaming settings, maybe an art store.

Up your nose with a rubber hose.

I recommend ProCreate:

Second the motion. Procreate is great. Much better to sculpt with than green stuff. I've been using it since it first came out. Superior product, and designed for sculpting, whereas green stuff is a plumbers putty.

I believe that the 'grey stuff' sold by Gale Force 9 is the same formula, just different packaging. I've tried both side by side and they behave exactly the same.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

You can also use Milliput. It's firmer than greenstuff and can be sanded, but it isn't as flexible.

I like Milliput, though it has one drawback, which is that using it is messier than GS. You need to keep your tools / fingers wet when using it, which tends to leave a residue on them from the putty, which in turn manifests as white fingerprints all oer the model. If you have to do puttying on already-painted models, as sometimes you must, it might be slightly difficult.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

If you don't want to order online, you pretty much have to walk into a hobby store and buy GF9 or GW green stuff. It's a pretty specialty item, and I've never seen it in a store except for a game store.

You can also get "green stuff" from some hardware stores. Just ask for green/yellow epoxy putty. I buy large blocks of it from my local hardware shop for about $12 a lb.

Thank you for all the responses. I'll be asking at my friend who works at the FLGS to order me some of the GF9 putty and if not looks like I'll be hitting up the local hardware store.

Thanks again!
