Bounding Assault Marine

Alright so here's my dilemma. I've been playing space marines and I love to convert models. so when I see ork armies I look at the models and the vehicles (especially) and I want to play because I love the conversions (I am an avid post apocalyptic imagery fan). the only problem is that I hate the way orks themselves look. Not their armor or weapons, that's awesome! it just the way the ork body compostion is so ugly!. I know some of you guys are going to be like "duh, they're ORKS!", but to me they just look dumb. Well to get to the point, I'm trying to find models i can convert to make into slimmer more human porpotioned. Oh, and I want to make female orks (no not not orks with cleavage), like elven females with some orks traits( I'm more than willing to do necessary converting). If you can think of anything that might help let me know.

Well if you really like converting there are 2 other armies to consider as well Tyranids and Chaos Marines. Both of them offer massive options for customization.
Tyranids are very easy to add awsume looking biological adaptions to with some simple greenstuff additions. A guy I play against did a massive Tyranid Scythe to count as the bone sword on his Tyrant and it looked just incredible.
Chaos Marines can be cutomized in a ton of different ways either through the gak ton of bits they com pre packaged with in the ways of spikes and chains. If you have left over bits from your Marines you can build back pack mounted trophy rack for your chaos troops. Or you can do what alot of people do and add greenstuff mutations to chaos marines. Chaos vehicles are also obcenely cool to modify with bits and additions.
Orks have alot of fun variety and just plain sillyness in design all are good options if you like to do conversions.
Thats my two cents. Good luck

thanks. ironically enough i wanted my orks to be chaos Slaaneshi orks. that's why they would be more "attractive" looking and have females.

I was thinking about that for the females, but for the males I originally thought to use elves but the high elves he to much armor and the wood elves I'm kind of iffy on.

Using weedy elves to count as Orks is not proppa! At least use Ogres.

wood elves mixed with daemonettes using Codex: Orks would be AMAZING! You can blend the elves to look a bit like the daemonettes and the daemonettes to look a bit twiggy like the elves so the army blends together. Obviously might want to consider replacing the daemonette claws with wood elf arms/hands. (if you don't feel the wood elves, the new dark elves are coming out and have the slaaneshi look you need)

IG Jungle fighters (Catachans?, can't remember) - nice and muscular to justify their orky stats. But not very female looking, unless you can add greenstuff boobies..
Or go for a Lost and the Damned army, using any chaotic and monstrous figures you like, picking (and converting) them as the basis for mutants that suit their 'counts as' ork equivalents.

I think I'd avoid this route.
No use making an army to "count as" an army that has to "count as" another army. Since there are no valid LatD rules anymore, you couldn't just do a LatD army. You'd stull have to use the rules for another army... and, if that's the case... Why not just have it "count as" that army?

No, that's what I meant - there are no LatD rules any more, so the army would look like LatD (without worrying in the slightest about the old LatD unit types) and count as Orks

Actually, along the ideas of using Catachans - you could use Catachan models with Ork weapons, vehicles, armor, and other equipment. You'd use the Ork rules for them - but as an homage to the old Gorka Morka game, they'd be Digganobs.

I wouldn't say it's that much of a shame, all of the new Ork plastics are far better than the old GM stuff. The Digga models weren't bad, but I think you can convert most of what you'd want these days...although not sure what you'd do for Grots...

Oh.
I know the answer to that one.
That would be, "Goofy and gorilla-esque."
Ork heads are almost as big as Catachan torsos (if not AS BIG), and their arms are bigger than Catachan LEGS.
(Oddly enough, though, BOTH are S3... Genius)

Once... long ago, I wrote up Fluff for the Emerald Knights Space Marine Chapter. A Chapter whose apothecaries started "fiddling." Soon the older the marines got and the more they fought, the bigger and stronger they grew. Inquisitorial probes showed that their geneseed had been contaminated by orkoid DNA. Purging of the Chapter was ordered by the Ordos Xenos, but before they could swoop in the Knights dissappeared. They would show up again from time to time, raiding merchant traffic and attacking things. No longer shouting the name of the Emperor, but rather, that of Gork and Mork under the banner of the Greenskin Knights.
just a thought...
