Hey, just saw this over on B&C and thought I'd share it here. An Australian company called Eureka Miniatures is putting out a line of 28mm Australian Special Forces trail bikes (and a 4-wheel ATV) like so:

The bikes by themselves only run $6.00 AUS a pop - pretty well a steal. The guy on B&C was suggesting them for SM Scout bikes. I think they'd look kind of weedy under a SM Scout, but would do right nicely for IG.

Check 'em out here:

Heh. They've even got a modern office furniture set complete with desktop PC and laptop.

Man...the farther I get into their site, the weirder stuff I find...

- Soccer Players - Make a whole team!
- Hawaiians - including the Hawaiian War Canoe!
- Boiler Suit Apes - my favorites being the Gibbons with MAC 10 and Gibbons with AK47
- Movie Monsters - with the Reservoir Bugs - giant insects in suits
- Warrior Frogs - Ooh! Frogs with Mallets!
- Pax Limpopo - with the Kreigshosen Clockwork War Pants and the Bugler on unicycle

And last but not least...Winged Fezzed Monkeys!

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

You didn't even mention the Seven Years' Picnic (fighting teddy bears!) or the like. Eureka do some fantastic stuff.

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil

Yeah, those eureka minis are what I use for my IG rough riders. They'd be way too small for SM scouts, but they are almost perfect for IG rough-riders.

That ATV btw, is a 6 wheeler. The mins are to represent some of "our" SAS dudes.

They also do a range of 28mm "generic" daemon type figures.

Is the pink color for deserts, like the SAS 'pink panther' jeeps?

Anyway nice stuff, I don't have any eureka stuff but I remember being tempted in the past. Is there a US dealer?

Can you post any pics of your IG rough riders on these guys?

Don't know about the pink colour, and the "our" comment in my post was to differentiate between AUS SAS and the UK SAS.

I've only got 3 of these assembled so far.
Of these two, the wheelie-popping one is a straight headswap with a cadian sentinel pilot, with a pack from the catachan HW crew.

The other one is an upper body swap with a cadian.

Apologies fr the small size. They should give an idea.

I'm not doing "lancers" for my RR. They have melta/plasma/flamer or GL, plus the option of meltabombs. They are meant as a fast reaction "harassment" force rather than an assault unit (but they will hunt tanks ok).

Interesting. I'd like to get a closer look at that torso-swapped biker. I generally like the look, although the torso looks kinda a little heavy on the swapped one.

I've been trying to figure out how if I did do lancers on bikes like these how I would do it...

Ive been thinking about the same thing.... Possibly either a "set" spear or maybe a jousting pose

I do think you need to make the bikes a little more high-tech than a trail bike

These miniatures here:

might work for IG rough riders too.

Yes, the torso is a little large on the swapped one, but he is wearing body armour on the torso (it looks a lot like an armoured motocrosser.).

Main issue with this, though is GWs unwillingness to stick to proportions. They have models in the same ranges that are out of proportion to each other.

Yeah, it's the old 28 mm "Heroic" proportions that get us in trouble again.

I see Bolt Action has also got a US Harley Davidson set up for release soon, too. Interesting.

Those bikes are nice but I think I'll just wait like a sucker for the new scout bikes.

Orks are like those neighbor children who aren't invited to your parties and they come right in anyway.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I'll be getting some of the new scout bikes for my marines (and modding them to star-wars stye speeder bikes to fit the rest of my army's theme), they're just still way too big for an IG grunt to sling a leg-over (oo-er).

The original metal SM bikes are also good, but need removal of the twin bolters. I've still got to finish several of these bad boys.
