A couple of the guys and I have planned a 2v2 attack and defend Apoc scenario to hit off this weekend. My friend and I are fielding 3k each of Space Marines, Salamanders and a custom chapter. We are going up against either Chaos SM or Demons and a traitor guard army, also 3k each.

My big question is how is the best way to form up the SM to be able to defend? My custom chapter has a very strong apoc ability. I have access to all the super heavies. I also have 4 squads of Terminators, and enough tanks to do anything with. The salamanders knowing the guys army will be a lot of infantry with some armor to back it. We will be able to cover a lot of different strategies with our armies.

My thoughts are to pack the army tight if we end up facing demons preventing the deep strike, but that makes us vulnerable to the traitor guard as it will be armor and ranged weapons. I'm stumped as to the best way to put this army together and make it so we aren't vulnerable, and if we have to be, which would be the easier to take care of. Any help would be good...thanks.
