We don't have much room to play, so we are looking to get a 6' x 4' table with removable legs, that can be stored behind the sofa.
I have asked a local chippy, and he has priced one at approx. £150! :(
Does anyone know of a good cheap way to get hold of a collapsible table?
It needs to have the legs slightly in fro the corners, as we have easy-chairs, hearth and stuff that it needs to over-hang.

Might be easier to just pick up a smaller folding table over at your local department store and place a 6x4 section of hardboard over it. Home improvement stores can sell you the hardboard pre-cut to the right size, or you can cut it yourself.
Having a single wood table, while neat, probably isn't going to work out so well for you due to cost (as you've found out).

well you could always make one. get a 4'x8' piece of plywood, cut it down and use some 2"x1" to frame the outside edge and create a cross support. The you can just use 2 folding saw horses for the legs.

My group uses two 6x2 plastic card tables we picked up at the local DIY store. we just store them in a closet and have a little shelf of terrain to pick from.
Oh, we also put down flock and sand on the tables.

I got the father-in-law to help me make a 6'x4' table that folds in the middle.
the catch being no legs it just gets placed on top of the table, missus dont mind as long as i dont destoy anything!
I've found it much easier as means less chance of me breaking flimsy legs (like a wallpapering table).
With wood and mdf top and screws and sand for base and cheap brown paint.
Must of spent 30 quid

Thanks for the replies.
Looks like we are going to go with a smaller folding table and a 6'x4' sheet of wood to place on top.
