I need some quick help with my Daemon Prince. He is a WIP that I have been fielding among friends to get a feel for using a Lash DP. Unfortunately I have been getting quite less than positive feedback on the choice of head for the model. Apparently, I'm the only person I know that thought a screaming Carnifex head would look cool. I don't have a picture but the head is sculpting seamlessly.

I cut away the original DP's neck in order to fit the Carnifex head better. But now, with all the disdain, I want to make the head appear more daemonic. I plan the turn the top of his head smooth instead of scaled, but do not know what to add to his facial feature to make him/her/it appear more Slaaneshi. Horn? I'm not big on horns. Any advice/thoughts?

Any possibility for a pic?

I was gonna suggest a horn but you're already turned off from that. Dunno then. I did a quick Google Images search for Demon and everything that came up had horns.

Well, you may not like all the ideas I can present.... but I'm gonna anyway.

I used a Tyranid Warrior head for my Daemon Prince... Well, as a base, anyway... It's an OOP metal head, at that.

I notched out the stupid looking mouth and inserted an extra mouth from one of the new Warrior plastic sprues. One thing it did was change the dynamic of he head. Instead of looking like an elongated egg, it looked king of like an elongated human skull... Kind of...

Then, I clipped horns off of WHFB Chaos Warrior helmets. Two LARGE horns, which protrude kind of upwards and a pair behind that, angled kind of downward. Greenstuff added onto that to make them look like they were busting through helped, too. If you look at it, you can recognize the components but, without trying to analyze the piece, it really looks "natural."

I can post a Photobucket link later from home (my work blocks image hosting sites, so i can't see your image or access my own to post them).

I know you were trying to keep away from horns, but they might just be the way to go.

What are your greenstuff skills like?

I'd like to see your model. My green stuff skills are par, and improving. I'm no real sculptor but I could be able to do what you described.

This is the best I actually have right now.
I thought I had more but I didn't find any.
I can't take any pics right now. My wife's gone out of town (back Sunday eve) and, apparently, took my camera without letting me know.

Blue Table Painting painted it for me a while back.
Here's a link to it on their site:

I could get a better pic after she's home, but this shows the jaw line fairly well, as well as an idea of how the horns look.

Hope this helps.

Eric
