Sorry for the cross post.
Seeing NO responses in "Off Topic," so I thought I should move it here.
Feel free to nuke the other, someone.

About a week ago Dakka (and ONLY Dakka) has been trying to install Active X controls on my computers at home & work.
My security settings prevent it, but I get the notice regularly (about every 3rd to 5th time I refresh or go to a different "page").
Like I said, I only get them at Dakka and I gt them at home AND work.
What Active X is Dakka using that it's suddenly started popping up?

We only have one flash banner which might cause something like that to pop up? We dont have any active x (the whole thing is run and written on linux), and we wont ever have any. I would assume that you are having adverts injected somewhere but since you get it at home and work that is quite strange.
The next time it happens, could you look at the banner advert and tell me what one it is, and then use 'view source' and email me the full source code (copy /paste) to machinegod AT dakkadakka.com
Thanks
To anyone reading, has anybody else experienced this?

Okay. I got it again, then once trying to get here and I'm getting it now in this reply window.
All have the banner ad for bitspudlo.com showing.
Where do I get the "view sounce" info from.
Right clicking it and clicking on the security warning banner don't give it to me... then again, that could be a work security issue, as well.

That is the flash banner. It is probably just flash downloading some extra to try to install. You are using IE I presume? I dont need the source now that I know it is that banner. I'll look into a bit in the near future. You can install a flash blocking plugin - easily available for firefox, and I'm sure there are some out there for IE (or become a DCM and disable adverts) to prevent it from popping up again until I find the root cause.

It' absolutely fine with me that it pops up... I hadn't made the connection to the banner before you mentioned that there was one that might be the culprit.
I'm just glad to know nobody's hacked Dakka and tried somethig fishy.
Thanks, Lego!
