This is lifted from the same Alliance email that had the November releases. It gets its own thread because I don't want to blindside anyone trying to stay out of the loop until Legends is released.

Minion Lesser Warlock Dahlia Hallyr & Skarath Warbeast

Her own kinsmen do not understand how the entrancing music of this Iosan sorceress tames lesser minds. She has forged a bond with a pale tatzlwurm she calls Skarath and offers their combined services in battle to those she deems useful. With a few haunting notes she directs this living weapon to swallow lesser enemies whole or to paralyze the mighty with its poisonous bite. This box contains all the parts necessary to field Dahlia Hallyr and Skarath. Dahlia Hallyr and Skarath will work for the Retribution, Circle Orboros, and Trollbloods. A player may include one Dahlia Hallyr and Skarath (PIP 75016) in his army.

Minion Lesser Farrow Warlock and Warbeast

Rorsh cares nothing for goals or sides in the battles wracking western Immoren and offers his services for reasonable payment and no questions asked. He carries his lever-action pig iron and a fondness for explosives from one battlefield to the next. His greatest weapon is the gargantuan bipedal fighting boar Brine, whom Rorsh takes particular delight in unleashing to rend enemies limb from limb.

So there it is. Unless there's a merc contract coming out in Legends that the elves are using to further their goals (highly unlikely from a fluff standpoint), The Retribution of Scyrah is the fifth faction. It was the odds on favorite, so I'm not surprised at all. I was pulling for the Cult of Cyriss. :( Epic Eiryss, Angel of the Retribution, will almost certainly work for the Retribution.

I don't know why Rorsh's possible hirers weren't included. Someone mentioned Legion and Skorne, but I'd wait for something more official. New Farrow are always welcome.

Dahlia is apparently Iosan, and after checking the IKCG, "Hallyr" is also an Iosan name. Dahlia and Vayl might be related, but you'd have to go back thousands of years before Lyoss was destroyed.

Yay! Real pansie elfish faction for Warmachine!

This'll be the Retribution of Scyrah to which Eiryss and Narn belong. My guess is that Rorch will work for any Hordes faction, just as all other Farrow units do.

So will you be able to use Aiyana and Holt (not just Eyriss) in a Retribution army? Or Nyss mercs? That would be an interesting team up, neh?

Will they be a jackless army? Would certainly think so.

Aiyana is a Seeker and thus not a member of the Retribution. So very unlikely. Nyss Hunters would require an errata and a new card (A&H too), so, again very unlikely. Besides, don't you think the Retribution will have their own faction troops that can do the same stuff?

Elves in the IK use arcanika which is a highly sophisticated form of mechanika. Arcanika is the basis of their own warjacks known as Myrmidons.

Myrmidons? What does that mean? The last time I read that word was as a class name in Fire Emblem. Does this mean that Elven warjacks will be quick swordfighters with a high chnace for a critical hit?

All we know is they have warjacks that are called Myrmidons.

Dictionary.com gives the definitions as:

1. (Greek Mythology) A member of a warlike Thessalian people who were ruled by Achilles and followed him on the expedition against Troy.
2. A faithful follower who carries out orders without question.

Not very helpful.

I'm going with "no" =)

We have seen pics of their elfjacks & I think, but am not sure, that MNCII has stats for a couple. I don't have the book handy though.

They are discussed in the IK RPG in a little detail. They are basically warjacks & look like the Arcane Golems in WoW.

Nope, they're not in either Monsternomicon. The IKCG and IKWG only mention them in passing. If there are any pics of them, they aren't in any of the four above books. But I'll double check this weekend just to be sure.

There have been no illustrations of Iosan myrmidons, or their ilk, presented in any PP publication to this date. It's anyone's guess as to what this sort of arcanika looks like.

Nope, I've seen pictures of them before. They are in the IK world guide or in No Quarter then.

That cat is long since out of the bag. You could also check Brian Snoddy's site...he has a lot of his IK art collected & I want to say he designed them.

There are no Myrmidon pics in the IKWG, IKCG, Monsternomicon, Monsternomicon 2, or any NQ ever.

Do not confuse Ioan myrmidons with wold constructs crafted by the Circle. They are not the same.

Those pictures on Brian Snoddy's site are of a woldwrath and woldwyrd. There are no myrmidon pictures on that site.

Period.

Images of Dahlia Hallyr & Skarath Warbeast are over at TGN linky

It's on the third page of warmachine/hordes images.

EDIT: also, on the second page is a big angry warthog dude. Any ideas?

The answer is in the OP of this thread.

Minion Lesser Farrow Warlock and Warbeast

Also, Epic Eiryss' rules not only make a reference to The Retribution (she counts as a Retribution model when fielded with the Retribution), but one of them mentions "non-myrmidon warjacks." So the fifth faction is confirmed to be Iosans.

A High Allegiant of the Order of the Fist. He's a Protectorate solo. He has a rule called Flying Kick and another rule that basically makes him live in something like the Inverse Ninja Theory. You know, the more ninjas there are, the worse they are? Well, the more guys this guy faces at once, the better he gets. The Inverse Inverse Ninja Theory?

Either tonight or tomorrow, I'll try to dig up all the Legends rules spoilers from the PP boards and post them here. In the mean time, one guy posted spoilers on his blog. It's in audio for some reason, but here's the url. He's got some pics too.

Nyss anything wouldn't work with Iosian anything. They do not get along at all, despite both being elves.

Not really...Myrmidons don't make it a faction any more than The Retribution being mentioned. The other possiblility was that Retribution was a merc contract or some kind of Allies. This doesn't make that any more or less likely. Retribution was always going to have jacks, that's a non-issue & solves nothing.

They could be like the Pirates...a whole book with their own everything but not a faction.

For the record I think it's a done deal that it IS a faction, personally, & talking to PP guys at Gen Con just made me more sure. But the Myrmidon thing doesn't help the case either way whatsoever (as was pointed out by the PP guys smirkingly).

Nope. No confusion. At least not on my part. Also, do not presume to speak with any kind of authority here...your word, with great respect, is nothing. Again, they are old, old news. Look harder.

They would & are. Anyone should be able to infer as much but in case you want to disagree...it flat-out is dealt with in b&w text in Legends.
