got bored tonight, so i finished off my malanthrope i made a year ago, after i cleaned off the dust lol.











Also, on a side note, im interested in buying ripper swarms (5 per base) and only if your selling 5+ of them.

I like it, though the tentacles seems out of place.

use some blue inks/washes on the tentacles. maybe even green, so their not so fluorescent and out there.

Yeah, considering the 'Carapace' of the thing is so awesome, some hilights on the tentacles would finish it off nicely, methinks.

I personally like the tentacles. I have no idea what a Malanthrope is, but the bright red next to the well-blended carapace just makes it look so alien and menacing. Those Tyranids know more about psychological warfare than people give them credit for!

It's basically an over sized Zoanthrope. A Tyrgon is to a ravener as a Malanthrope is to a zoanthrope.

I think you did a really nice job on this!

One criticism, is that the tentacles do not seem differentiated enough from one another; they kind of blend together into one big mass. I think a little bit of shading on the underside of the tentacles and where they meet one another will help it look more like a bunch of separate tentacles.

Still, a very nice model. Well done.

tenticles are in the middle of being fixed now lol, going to ink and shade them a bit, keeping them a purple / pink colour, but alot les shiney lol, thats mainly ue to the pic being taken while they were still wet.

warp: a malanthrope harvests planets, commonly follows rippers about.
it has a rule called anaphalactic shock, if it causes a wound on something them it cause instant death, no matter how many wounds the enemy has.

trygon is on the way, got the top and tail sectioned done, just working on the tail carapace.

on a side note, ordered 3 lictors and 3 ravenors today, lictors simply because they are the best looking model in 40k, and they are great at killing most things.
and the ravenors because they are beasts in combat, a unit of 3 makes a mess off nice big units.

had a small 1,200 point game this week, malanthrope done great, killing a daemon prince, and finishing off a greater daemon of tzeentch lol, now love the model.
once trygon is done its on to a unit of 6 flying warriors.
