Hey all,
I posted two days ago on the PP forums about my upcoming game against Goreshade. I took Karchev. Pretty much the consensus was "well... you could win, but here's how to try and not die so easily.
The game went something like this:
Khador went first. Karchev stood between the Kodiak on his right and the Destroyer on his left. On the right side of the table was a hill with a cliff and there were two small forests on the left. The middle was bisected by a large hedge line. Karchev cast Iron Curtain and walked forward. The destroyer walked up and stood just in front of him. The kodiak ran at a bit of a diagonal to be a couple of inches from the hedge.
They were still out of range so I couldn't really do anyting else.
Goreshade was lined up to the right and had two deathrippers with him as well as a harrower and a stalker which were off farther to the left. Everything ran forward and the stalker lept into the woods.
Turn two, Karchev upkept Iron curtain and gave two focus to the Destroyer. Next he cast tow and brought the Destroyer forward. Only the bonejacks were within range at this point so the Destroyer shot one and took out it's cortex and arcnode with a boosted, aimed, shot to the face. Karchev fissured the other, did a bit of damage and knocked it on it's can. The Kodiak then walked up and proceeded to hammer fist the downed bonejack into a steaming pile of burnt metal. Also, by advancing, the still standing bonejack was put on the ground by IC.
Next, the Harrower moved up a bit and shot Karchev for no damage. Goreshade attempted to cast bleed on Karchev and failed, then on the Kodiak and scored two points. Next, Goreshade walked around the hedge to engage the Kodiak. His hit missed on double ones( the first of many). Next the Stalker jumped out of the woods and charged my destroyer. It hit both times but did very minimal damage. The harrower moved up and proceeded to tear into the destroyer. He took the gun and movement. Then comes the feat. Goreshade manifests his bane thralls, fortunately for me, way to close to Karchev and he can't get the charge, so they just surround him. One of them can't squeeze in so he squares off with the Kodiak instead. This is when I started thinking "oh crap, i've got five weapon masters who hurt my armor in b2b with Karchev... I'm dead. They proceed to wail on him. It hurt... a lot. I don't recall exactly what was taken out, but it hurt. However, Karchev was still standing and he had his axe.
Turn three Karchevgave two to the Kodiak and fissured Goreshade and took out three banes with it. Unfortunately it didn't even knock GS down. He cast unearthly rage. Regardless, The Kodiak moved up and wailed on Goreshade. Took out all but three boxes. Now I was totally screwed. I knew i'd die on the next turn. My Kodiak had failed to kill Goreshade.
On his turn, the bane thralls took plenty more from Karchev but left him alive (thanks to two more double one rolls). Next goreshade moves up, loaded with focus. He procedes to thrash karchev to within four boxes of his own death. body, right arm, one movement and one armor box remaining. He failed on two more strikes with double ones. The Harrower tried to break off from the destroyer who took out it's movement with it's free strike. The Stalker moved to Karchev and couldnt even scratch his paint. This ended turn three with a near dead Goreshade in front of a focus restored Karchev who still had his axe.
Turn four was quick. One double boosted hit with Sunder and Goreshade was split in two.
I know my opponent made some mistakes. If he'd gotten the charge, Karchev would have died. Plus, he rolled i think a total of six double ones. It was disgusting. But a victory for the motheland nonetheless.
ALL HAIL KHADOR!

Thought begets heresy. Heresy begets retribution.
