Spores rained down and darkened the sky, shells exploded all around the small craft and finally came the noise Helbrecht had been dreading. The hull of the ship had been hit directly and a rush of cold air and shrapnel burst into the ships interior, they were losing altitude rapidly, a red warning light flashed and the sirens rang as the initiate tried to pull the ship up. Brothers clambered out of the wreckage to see Tyranids advancing over the hill. The space marines grabbed what equipment they could and prepared to counter attack. Helbrecht and Gwen both that if they could defeat them quickly there would be sufficient time for evacuation.

Beginning of game
Seize ground spearhead with 4 objectives

Black Templar turn one



A general advance leaving only the heavy bolter squad behind. Helbrecht’s unit seized the second objective. The shooting phase saw Gwen kill two of the brood lords retinue, and heavy bolter rounds hit the ground in front of the Biovores.

Tyranid turn one



The Tyranids swarm over the objective. Warriors fire upon Salmus and his unit killing one. The biovores launch spore mines into Helbrechts unit killing 4

Black Templar turn 2


The fearless marines advance. Gwen, Salmus and his squad advance firing on the termagants killing 11, meanwhile the heavy bolter squad fire upon the Genestealers. The initiates and Gwen charge the Gaunts and kill 11 more (the remaining 2 are crushed under the adamantinum of the emperor) suffering no damage in return. A mighty duel between the broodlord and Helbrecht rages, Helbrecht sustaining a wound but dealing 3 back in return, while the remainder of Helbrechts unit aren’t so lucky leaving only one man to fight back killing 3 in a berserk rage.

Tyranid turn 2


Much to my dismay more Termagaunts come and reek bloody vengence on the assault squad that had yet to do anything yet. And Biovore fire causes the heavy bolter squad to flee after sustaining one causality.

Black Templar turn 3


The heavy bolter team regroups and moves forward, Gwen and Salmus advances towards the warriors and leaves his squad Helbrecht moves closer to the biovores ordering his last soldier to move back towards the objective. Gwen takes 3 wounds off the warriors and Salmus finishes them off in close combat. The remaining initiate squad fires upon the gaunts and kill them all.

Tyranid turn 3


More Termagaunts come shooting and assaulting the initiate killing 3 but then being run down. The biovores shoot at Gwen and shake the adamantinum behemoth Genestealers come on and assault Salmus dealing a wound to him he strikes back slaughtering 3 of the beasts with deadly precision.

Black Templar turn 4


Gwen and the remaining initiates charge the gene stealers hoping to save Salmus but it they were to late just as they arrived he was dealt a fatal blow , in their rage the remaining gene stealers had their limbs torn off by iron grip of Gwen. Helbrecht charges the biovores and slaughtered them all. The Space controlled 3 objectives this allowed a thunder hawk to pick up the remaining survivors before the true force arrived.

Today had been a victory but at a terrible cost, every alien that had been killed that day could not quench the anguish the space marine felt for every lost brother that day. Helbrecht stood beside Salmus’s now lifeless corpse and uttered a prayer. “Brother’s do not morn for him, you must remember him and think of him as you chainsword sweeps through our enemies, and above all remember what he embodied”

Nice report. Telling it as more of a story made it easier for me to understand. Hope you find someone to help you with your images problem.
