I must admit that, new as I am, I love the look of the site. The presentation is great and perfectly fits the style of the content but I do have a small idea.

The icons used for the status of posts, indicating new messages and the like, are as good as the rest of the site but I wonder if it would be possible to generate one to indicate if a Battle Report contains any photos or illustrations ?

As much as I'm enjoying reading the antics of the gamers here, I find that pictures greatly add to the content ( Imagine a WD Battle Report without them ) and feel that such an icon or flag would enable others like myself to locate the posts of those who strive for that WD feel ( NOT THAT I HAVE ANYTHING AGAINST THE WORKS OF THE OTHER POSTERS I MUST STRESS )

Should it be possible, then I thank those who can make it so. If not, then at least I know I asked and I'll just have to read them all.

I'm completely with you. If I know a battle report has pics I'll *always* take a look at it, but if it doesn't then I usually won't bother.

The problem is this:

If the 'pic' indicator is a user-controlled function (like you click a box to show that your thread has pics) then people can just as easily forget to click that box as easily as they can type "[pics]" into the thread's heading. In short, if you hand the control over to the users then you'll still be in a position where you don't know if someone has forgotten to 'click the box' or not.

If it comes down to an automated marker, I don't think there is any easy way for the software to know if there is a linked photo (one hosted from another site) or not.

If we're talking about pics attached to posts, then yes the threads do display a little 'paperclip' icon to show that the thread contains attached files. Although, the color of the paperclip does blend in pretty well with the background so maybe that's something we can change.

So I guess the answer is: The software does tell you if there are attached pictures in the thread, but not if there are linked photos and I don't think there is any way to have the software do that unfortunately.
