It would be interesting if you could actually post a picture of the set, to show that you actually have it. GW set a street date for it, and it shouldn't be shipping yet. Not saying you don't have it, just that I won't believe you unless I see some proof. And if you do have it and can prove it, I'll be asking GW why I have to wait to sell copies at my shop until Friday at Midnight.

I got a call from someone on Sunday saying they had it already, and it had just come in the mail. He didn't have a good explanation for why mail arrived on sunday of a holiday weekend.)

I pre-ordered 2 sets from GW US, and got them on Monday. Although given that pre-orders are supposed to be received on release day, and international shipping is a little unpredictable, it's probably not too surprising that they shipped early.

I pre-ordered mine, for delivery on saturday. The note on the online ordering form said that the items would be shipped some time this week to ensure they'd be here for saturday. I guess the combination of this is probably going to be one of the busiest launches outside of whole game releases they've had in a good long while, if not ever, and the fact that they won't want to be inundated with thousands of phone calls from disgruntled gamers on saturday afternoon as they're box set hasn't turned up yet means they'll be getting the boxes out early. Especially those for overseas orders.

It'd be nice if mine did turn up early as I'm going away for the weekend on friday night and won't be here on saturday when it's due to arrive!!! However, living in the Uk where the post is vaguely reliable, I doubt it.

Anyway, they've already got my money as I pre-ordered, so if they say they'll deliver it by the release date "at the latest" then I'm not going to complain if it turns up early! Those guys who are saving their money until saturday morning in the store will have to wait!!

All the rules, yes, just not background and modelling. The 'big' booklet that comes with it basically has a 'lite' version of all the omitted stuff.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Gettin' mine on Saturday. The FLGS I'm getting it from is having events all day on Saturday for the release to encourage people to trade in-store amongst each other for the army models they want. Can't wait!

My two US pre-ordered sets arrived last week. They are a great deal. I mean, five Terminators alone cost $50, right? And they even worked in two different Deffkoptas - minor variations, but still. I would have liked a Dread w/ AC and not multimelta, but that's easy enough to fix.

Yeah I did get it, and it does have the full rules. I pre-ordered it about a month ago. I think its lame that it only comes with 6 regular dice though. I guess they had to cut something somewhere.

Woohoo I have four! Weee!

Ill say though for shooty terms I can see a lot of people just buying this box set. You cant really tell a difference. Its defeinitely not a macragge vs. normal tac boy difference.

Got mine today. Only down side for me is the sprues are a bit mixed up between Orks and Marines, so I'm going to have to get my clippers out in order to split them with my mate. Which is fine, as I understand that was the only way they could fit all those minis in the box. Upside: more minis, Downside: bit of clipping. No problemo!

For those who have Black Reach:

Is there a specific model for the Marine Sergeant? If so, what weapons is he equipped with, and most importantly - is he wearing a helmet?

Thanks!

Hahaha!

I'm one of those in the Space Marines must wear helmets crowd.

I mean, thats like my #1 rule: Always wear your helmet.

Now I just need to procure some space Marine heads...

Cool. I have been thinking of buying a set. The price is just so good. The warboss is cool too. And the new jetbikes even though they will no longer be as good.

I recieved my copy of Black Reach about a month ago. I was at the local hobby shop and the manager told me that he got 1 advance copy in. I asked if it was for sale and he said yes, I immediately purchased it. Theres a lot of cool models that come with it. (especially the deffkoptas) the contents are:

small rulebook
green template (the thick plastic)
10 space marines, sgt, flamer, rocket launcher. the sgt has one hand pointing and a bolter. with no helmet
1 space marine captain, which is actually a very nice model. nice back banner, sword and bolter
1 space marine dreadnought with multi melta, power fist
5 space marine termies, one sgt. power sword, the rest with power fists

plastic ork warboss (nice model) power klaw, shoota
3 deffkoptas (twin linked rockets, no weapon options on the sprues)
20 ork boyz, 2 with big shootas
5 Ork Nobz with sluggaz and choppaz.

little bag of dice
red rulers
black reach book

I particularly like all the stuff you get with this set, the space marines have raised shoulder pads on their right side. (The arrow up, signifying that they are a Tactical squad.) I thought this was a nice addition. You get a pretty good chunk of models and so I've decided to start a new space marine army as well as add to my existing Ork army. I'm sure most people won't believe me but ill post a picture tonite some time to show it off. I have the space marines already based and put together and the orks are still on sprues, ill post tonite.

My 2 coppers...

I was able to pick mine up today and get a read of the new Space Marine codex. The LGS had an advance copy of the box set for us to oogle over a couple of weeks.

Great stuff, just in time to get some more stuff ready for the Ard Boyz.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

I got my two boxes on tuesday from my LGS. The great thing, is that i signed up for them on saturday, and still got the pre-order price.

One box assembled, ready to prime, 2nd box still in the wrapper. And I got out my magragge set to get more space marine goodness.

What I'm dissapointed in,
there is no step by step how to play like the macragge book.

Are the models the kind of crappy clip together ones like battle for macgragge? Because I really didn't like those, or are they much better than that.
