The best season of the year is upon us. The NFL season. Preseason predictions, excitement after the NFL draft, the empty feeling from not having enough solid RB's on your fantasy team - they're all gone. Time for the games to begin!

I finally got season tickets for the Bears after years on the waiting list...

I am a Giants fan and I am so happy about winning it all last year. I hope my Giants can win their division, but I will happily settle for another Wildcard berth.

If you follow the NFL you know the Indianapolis Colts now have a new stadium. I know a guy who was a long time season ticket holder and had seat at about the 50 yard line. Apparently they decided the way to reward loyal season ticket holders was to take away their seats while asking for more money for season tickets in the new stadium.

He was not happy and did not buy season tickets this year. Yay it's football season.

Nope. 2 pre-season, 8 regular-season, and first opportunity to get any home playoff tickets. (Got the rights on the post-season games while on the waiting list too. I was at Soldier Field for the NFC championship game two years ago, and I've never been anywhere with that level of excitement and energy.)

Unfortunately, I don't think we're going to be that good again for a while...

Meanwhile, I got bent over in my fantasy football draft the other night, because my computer froze up on me during the second half. Of course, it also didn't help that I forgot Steve Smith was suspended. :(

Steelers for the win! The best part is that my 3-year old daughter like to watch football with me - so counts as family time!

I doubt the Pats win it all. I think the NFC will take it again. Any AFC team will have a brutal playoff run, where the NFC could be a fairly easy run for someone.

Chris Simms, maybe. We dropped Gutierrez and kept Cassel, and he's just not very good.

I've already got a claim in for Simms in my fantasy league. Cassel isn't good enough to keep the job, and between Welker and Moss, I figure you don't have to be the best QB in the world to put up some decent numbers.

The AFC looks a lot more wide open than anyone thought:

Pats - Brady looking to be on IR
Chargers - Merriman's knee is as stable as my one-year old while walking AND the Chargers looking pretty 'meh' yesterday (which, I think when Norv Turner is the HC, should be expected)
Indy - looking very mortal (and from what I saw, completely due to starting a bunch of nobodies on both lines)
Jacksonville - lost at Tenn, which has no WRs
Cleveland - embarrased by a good Dallas team

Pitt looked really good, but it was Houston, and it's only the first game.
