Omadon's Realm

Hello folks, just a brief introduction

After almost a decade away from tabletop gaming (I stopped playing around the time the WHFB undead were split into VC and TK), I've decided to cautiously return. I was basically put off during the height of the 'Red' period and the unpleasant drive to squeeze pokémon kids for monies, older gamers like myself were actively driven to the furthest reaches of the warp.

Well, my friends have continued on and off to collect and play, mainly 40k and talking over the last few months I've seen dramatic improvements to the miniatures, game play and overall attitude of GW to mature players.

So I talked over with folks what 40k army to collect and noone had orks... I'd been an eldar player back in the day. Strange to say tho, since deciding to start up an ork army, I've become really hooked on the greenskins and their wanton and humerous ways, and the army no longer sucking is a distinct help, I will be collecting and building and experimenting with my ork army as my winter project.

So, that's me.

Nice to meet you all.

(oh and how do i change my little flag to the Union Jack? i am a filthy limey)

names JD nice to see an older player join up again.
Ork are great, soo many different choices when building an army, and they actually have some nice things to note about them now, like mega armour nobz being a troop for every waboss

Welcome back!

you actually missed a pretty good period in the early 2000s with new army lists coming out regularly in WD and a huge expansion in GW stuff, card games, computer games, novels, etc.

These days the rules have gotten more restrictive but the models have (mostly) gotten better.

And its a great time to start 40k orks with the new black reach set coming out.

The flag depends on the location of the server from where your posts are detected to be coming. If you are on a company network, you may be in an office in the UK but the company's routing may send the data packets through a server in New York. (Maybe its headquarters are there, or something.)

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

well I did like the sound of the Lost and the Damned army list, I used to own the Realm of Chaos (LatD and StD) books so I'm a believer in God themed armies and still get twitchy when I see slaanesh troops alongside khorne stuff. I read somewhere here they might do a Legions book for 40k which would be cool. I may build an EC army for my second force.

Oh and i may well do a CoS list for fantasy, just cos i love the forgeworld KoS model so much, I am disappointed GW release these lists, allow people to build them, then scrap them.

(Killkarzy thanks for answer, my comp is at home, my ISP is virgin media... I should have a brit flag no?)
