Hey all. My woman has decreed that my White Dwarf collection has to go. I have no leg to stand on as we do need the space, and they are all collecting dust. Is there any issues I should keep for rules, etc? I don't want to go through every one of them but if you know off the top of your heads some that have currently relevant rules or content, please let me know. I've got the current issue back to issue 150 or so. Quite a lot of shelf space
Also, I know these things don't sell well at all, so if you have any suggestions on what I should do with them, that'd be cool. I'd hate to have to recycle them, but I guess they're "magazines" after all.

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor. |

The only reason they don't sell well is the cost of shipping. Putting them up on eBay (pick up only), craiglists, and any local gaming shops will probably bring in more cash than shipping elsewhere in the US. You might be able to swap for something with a friend, or you can just give them to a gaming club or a good gaming buddy.
Finally, you could always use UPS bulk shipping, which isn't that horribly bad.

I'd try to sell them to someone in your local game store. The rules might not be relevant but the painting guides and fluff are always good things to go back to for reference

Agree with Malfred. Tear out the articles/pictures you want to keep and put 'em in a binder/folder, and recycle the rest of 'em.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil |

That's what I did two years ago before I moved house.
Went through my 230-0dd issues (from issue 79 up, but missing a few.) and sorted them into the ones that still held my interest (so heavy WHFB or LoTR content with no useful or intresting 40k were binned) go kept. The Dave Taylor Admech vs Tyranid stuff was kept.
I'm down to about 80 issues. Yep, I just tossed 150 issues of a magazine into the recycler, to be somehow made into a useful product (a first for many of them).
We don't know what your partcular WD likings are, so it's kinda hard to tell you what to keep.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

I kept mine stored at my parents house until we moved and got enough space for me to bring them back. I dont look through them that often but it is nice to have a trip down memory lane from time to time.

I know you mentioned you had around 150 and up, but if you've got issue 127, it is a definite keeper. The re-envisioned Eldar with Jes Goodwin's Aspect Warriors. Artwork and rules were all in that issue. Very, very cool stuff.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby. |

I know my FLGS offers trade value for books and magazines, maybe you can talk yours into it as well. When I turned in my enormous stack of RPG books it fueled my son's "Pirates of the" collection and added to my Reaper collection nicely.
That being said, the Post Office offers a discounted rate for media mail (books, magazines, DVD's, CD's etc.) so shipping wouldn't be too bad unless it was for a large number of 'zines. Also, Priority Flat Rate Envelopes should be large enough for several issues.
Try listing it in the Swap Shop, on Bartertown, and some of the other sites that trade/sell 40k and fantasy.

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money
"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell
