Australia, mate

I've submitted to the inevitable and started a SM army, the Blood Ravens (because I love the computer games).
So far I have the minis from Black Reach (captain, 6 termies, 10 tacs, dreadnought), a second 10 man tac squad and 10 allied grey knights (for Blood Raven fluffiness and because the minis are great).
I've been wondering what direction to take the army in, list wise. I'm open to ideas, but I won't be ditching the 2 tac squads, the dreadnought or the grey knights. This will be using the upcoming codex, of course.

I thought a mobile, 24" rain of dakka army would be fun to play with, but I don't really know how to go about building that kind of list (LRCs maybe?).

Please share your ideas.

If you're going to go the path of the Dreadnought, take 3 or none. Lone dreadnoughts die harder than Keith Ledger in at a sleeping pill picnic.

Try this:

HQ:
Tigurius (or the re-named Blood Ravens equivalent for your army)
Master of the Forge (for heavy dreads)

Troop:
10x Grey Knights
10x Tactical Squad (drop pod)
10x Tactical Squad (drop pod)

Heavy:
3x Ironclad Dreadnought (drop pod)

Elite:
10x Sternguard (drop pod)

That should come in around 1850-2000 pts. You'll have trouble against Tyranid Monstrous Creatures and Mech Eldar, but everything else you should be able to do reasonably well with.

wait wait wait wait... huh..?

If you give 1 or 2 of the dread missile launchers, in adition to AT weapons, then I think you would have an answer to some MC's and mech eldar. This is without any knowledge of the rules about iron clad dreads. This would also drastically change sourclams' drop pod army, but, with a horde of advancing marines, supported by dreads, and some combat squads with heavy weapons, you would have an army closer to your tide of daka bolters
