Either sci-fi or historical where the Carrier is the focus of the game.

They are not necessarily the focus but Battlefleet Gothic has carriers.

It'd be interesting to see if someone has come up with an AI rules set for carriers in the game.

Would make for a hell of a scenario game at the very least.

Not that I've played AI...

What about victory at sea?

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil

A Call to Arms has carriers, but they're not necessarily the focus. Not bad rules, but they had some trouble (in my opinion) getting certain things right... Specifically the role of fighters in the game and dealing with demands to make the lists show-accurate (First ones kill everyone) or playable.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.
Play the games that make you happy.

Interesting.

Or maybe a conversion of Starmada (which I found by looking up reviews of
Victory at Sea).

Babylon 5 has decent carrier/attack craft rules (not dissimilar from BFG, but deeper).

I was looking for a decent set of rules to replace the lame Starship Battles (Star Wars collectible prepainted miniature fleets) rules, and I came across this interesting version of the Full Thrust rules:

http://webpages.charter.net/dervel/Full%20Thrust%20Star%20Wars.pdf

Basically they took Full Thrust (which tries to balance Star-Trek style torpedo ships vs Star Wars style carriers) and rebalanced it to make carriers more attactive. They just removed the point and weight cost for Fighter Bays (you still pay points for the Fighters, just not for the empty bays).

And a few more simplifications too, but that was the gist.

Somewhere in south-central England.

Any fleet scale WW2 naval rules, such as General Quarters, has to cover carriers.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.
