I'm reading it at the moment; I'm about 50 pages in. So far it's good, although in the style of the heresy books there are many characters to follow. I'll let you know if it's worth it in a few days, if no one else does.

I really should be spending my time more constructively.

I thought it was weak, especially for Dan Abnett, and I'm a pretty big Abnett fan.

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

I hate Abnett's books with every fibre of my being. I'm sure that halfway through the book, a lone guardsman will find some way to make a titan explode with his lasgun, just like they can supposedly destroy Dreadnoughts and Terminators with impunity.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Such is the reward to those who follow the Emperor's divine light. Such heroes are an inspiration to all.

A lone guardsman does go up against titan with his lasgun in the book, and is vaporized with nothing but few charred leg bones left...

Sorry if I spoiled it for anyone

I just finished it and I was very underwhelmed. The battles were bland and very predictable. I was very disappointed by Dan's treatment of the villains of the novel. He never went into any detail of who they were or what their goals/agenda were.

Do you mean the villains or the archenemy? Either way I agree, after I was done I wanted something more filling to read. The number of titan battles where building sized opponents snuck up on one another or sprang from ambush was pretty silly. And I thought the Tanith First and Only were good!

Sin City...fun place to visit...sucks to live here!

I got it and read it in about two days. Dan's usual "visual" writing style was great and some of the battles were written well the story as a whole seemed....too ragged. Kind of like it was thrown together as a filler.

The characters were pretty shallow for the most part and the Arch-Enemy's forces were pretty much just "debased" sock puppet-rabbits with fangs (but it's got teeth this big and can leap this far....look at the bones man look at the bones!) It was a real let down when compared to his Gaunt novels. Plus I read TITAN pretty much from cover to cover each time I could and couldn't put the comic down. This book is a pale shadow compared to that.

It was merely okay. I wouldn't pay a nickle for it.
