I ordered a White Scars captain on a bike, I was planning on outfitting a command squad with Khan and just wanted to get some ideas of what peoples opinions of it was.


Now when they charge he gives them plus one initiative and plus one strength. This is for my power unit for 1500 to 2000 points.

Okay here is my problem I don't know what to do with the command squad.


On one hand I have this,

Command Squad w/
Bikes 90
Champion 15
3 Power Weapons 15

For a total of 265 Points with Khan being 205 points for a total retinue cost of 470 points.

Here is the other option though

5 Command Squad
Champion 15
3 Power Weapons 45
4 Storm shields 60 points

but give them a Razorback, they cant charge the turn on the turn they come in but they do have a 3 plus invulnerable, the other option is to give the previous squad storm shields for 45 more points.


Oh and can apothecary take items from the list it just says a veteran may have not any model. I dont know if they can or not.

Apothecary can be put on a bike, yes? Seems to be a no-brainer.... you want the Apoth on the bike.

Yes, but do I want to spend the xtra points for the stormshields w/ the addition of bikes bringing the whole cost to around 500 seems to nerf my ability in some regards to field more troops and 500 points invested in 6 models is a bit steep.

Can you give bike mounted troops storm shields as well? If so, what is taken away, the pistol which takes away the two close combat weapons +1.

It doesnt replace anything it just states Any veteran may have

The rule book states a model armed with a shield does not gain the benefit of having a extra CC weapon. I could find nothing in the rulebook stating that a model on a bike could not have a shield. Although I may be missing it I looked at the entry etc...
