There is a possessed Space Marine in the Horus Heresy Artbook's scene of the meeting of the various Traitor legions at Istvaan V. He is on Ahriman's right, wereathed in fire and chains.

Now this wouldn't be weird per say but he is in Blood Angel armor. Anyone know what's the deal with that?

Are you sure that he isn't a World Eater, because I think that they changed from white/blue to red armour when they turned traitor.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

He's got Blood Angel Iconography and no bronze trim.

I'm just trying to figure out his history and how it is he wound up a traitor.

I saw this too. I have been playing 40K since '92, and I don't remember any mention of a "Red Angel" in the old Realms of Chaos books. I might have missed it, but the concept was new to me.

Also, the "Red Angel" IS in Blood Angel armor. You can see Blood Angel symbols on the armor.

Now, Horus did send the Blood Angels to put down a rebel system at this time. However, the system was under daemonic control. This is where Sanger gets his legs broken by the Greater Daemon.

It is possible that a Blood Angel was possessed during this time, but it would be pretty close to the Istvaan V thing. Like, the possessed marine would have to cross half the galaxy to be at the little sit in that was pictured. Of course, he is a possessed marine, so it could be possible.

...For what it's worth...

I can still remember when a box of 30 Space Marines was $30.00. Now THAT'S old school! In fact, I started playing in the Rogue Trader days...yes, I am that old. Played Warhammer Fantasy for years before Rogue Trader even came out...
