Looking at the increasing number of Jetlock armies out there, I can't help but thinking Pariahs should be commonplace in Necron tournament armies, especially 'Ard Boyz. Just a brief thought, I'm headed out the door as I type this, but I didn't want to forget to post it. Thoughts?

They can decrease your enemy's leadership.Effective against units without fearless.
Other use of them...I cannot see that yet.

I don't think Jetlock armies are really that common.

Pariahs cost tons, aren't Necrons for phase-out or veiling, and have a main role that can be done by cheaper Immortals (as smart opponents won't engage them in HtH, and they have no way of quickly getting there). They tie Flayed Ones for Necron Loser Unit... no, I take that back, Flayed Ones don't make a phase-out loss more likely.

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.

Are Pariahs really that dangerous in HtH? With only one attack, are they really scary to close combat forces with a toughness greater than 3? What decent Close combat unit can they beat with equal points (with a toughness greater than 3)?

About the only thing that Pariahs scare in HtH are walkers with the armour penetration from the warscythes. But that is assuming they actually get a hit in.

Pariahs are dangerous to anything that attacks on I2-, like Mega Armoured Nobs, Imperial Terminators, etc.
I think it's important not to think of Pariahs as lone units, but as a unit that enhances the abilities of other Necron units, such as a Lord with the Nightmare Shroud, for example.
