...how's the Imperium balance these days?

When I was heavily into 40k, all I ever noticed was new Space Marine models coming out by the dozen and watching whatever army I was collecting suffer with a lack of variety.

It sort of reeks of irony that the Imperium represents the "last breaths of humanity" when they aren't exactly short on number.

Whilst they were fairly new at the time, two of the armies I took a shine to, Dark Eldar and Tau, seemed to be pretty... well, small.

From what I can see, Tau have had a few nice models pumped into them, though I don't recall seeing too many new Dark Eldar models. Maybe I just didn't really understand what Dark Eldar were all about back then (essentially badass pirates who arrive, pillage and then leave, right?). So I spose all they pretty much need is a few Raiders and squads of troops.

Off the top of my head Necrons also suffered somewhat. Though they've had a bit of a revamp since I last took an interest in 40k.

I spose one factor would be customization. Races such as Orks/Chaos can get by as you can just literally "go nuts" and make models a little bit different with a tiny bit of Green Stuff. Where as Space Marines being highly regimented etc, would no doubt look a bit odd with kitchen doors hammered to the side of their Rhinos and whatnot, which is pretty much what the Orks would do to them. So in that respect I can see why GW might favour releasing more models for the Imperium.

Though I guess there are still races that need some love, but as I have been out the loop for a bit, I have no idea what GWs near-future plans are.

This isn't a flame, i'm just seeing if my reasoning as to why there seems to be more of a high ratio of Imperium based models than others is on the right track.
That and to get me posting here a bit more

space marines are gw trade mark army they put all thier love into them and leave everyone else alone.

not every imperial army gets that that love (just look at sob). also the new space marines codex just came out so they need new models

One can be, "Da Fist uv Mork" and the second can be, "Da Uvver Fist uv Mork."
Make a third, and it can be, "Da Uvver Uvver Fist uv Mork"

Somewhere in south-central England.

I don't want GW's love put into me.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Presumably you're not surgically modified with GW's love like a Space Marine is either...

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

I think Dark Eldar getting redone will give real substance to the forces of disorder. This may very well be why Inquisition is on the back burner.

If they'd have done CSM right we'd have substance but Dead:Horse:Beat.
