I started a rules thread regarding the details of this: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/220253.page

I was wondering what people are doing now that the new Drop Pod models are oot. There seems to be a whole set of tactics around the doors, whether to open them, hiding behind them, etc. etc.

Anybody have any experience with this?

Do you leave the Pod open, and shoot through it to get cover? Do you keep it closed?

I place the model on the table w/doors closed, then roll scatter. From there I drop the doors, and if it won't fit I'll fudge it as little as possible to get it right.

I also play it that the doors are just decoration, and the hull of the vehicle is measured from the base that all of the doors and harnesses are mounted on. The doors and wings won't prevent enemies from moving around the pod.

I also put all of the harnesses inside my pods, so you can kinda see through, but I'm not so sure man-sized models can really be claimed as targets when they're on the other side of the pod. A Carnifex or tank for sure, but something like a Marine or Guardian? I don't know...
