I was thinking, what would happen if they put a kroot in power armor? When humans go in, they get, like, an everything boost, strength and armor especially. Kroot are already stronger than non-SM humans, so they'd be really strong in power armor, and that armor save will help them a lot. I think kroot would run faster than humans, so in power armor kroot could be even faster.

The only drawbacks:

1) The Imperium would never allow this to happen because they're really really really mean and no fun.
2) The kroot probably wouldn't do it anyway because he'd have to wear women's power armor, seeing how skinny kroot are.

Any thoughts?

The armour would not work on their physiology in the first place... And they'd have to build giant air conditioners inside the suits to keep the stench bearable! Yuch!

lol, I'm thinking that it would they look like mean Imperial kroot, but move like they were in slow ork mega armour due to the fact that the marine armour is linked to the space marines through connectors and other various links and responds to their movements, without that its just a hunking mass of metal.

"The Imperial Guard squad are holding a hill and hear an almight roar from their left, they turn to see a 20strong kroot in SM power armour 30 metres away"

"By the Emperor! they say as they watch these monstrosities .... slowly .... so slowly ... waddle toward them"

"Another roar indicates they have walked another 10meters closer, as the guardsman lay across the grassey bank drinking from their flasks of tea and eating biscuits talking of memories past"

"Another Roar belows from 10metres away now, right lads, suppose we best do something about these new kroot, so they walk over, lasguns in hand and proceed to tap each kroot in the chest making them fall over"

"Help we can't get up! they cry, each rolling on their backs like a turtle"

Tau battlesuits are power armour controlled by direct mental command. The Tau could build suits for the Kroot if they wanted, but they don't want to.

The Kroot probably have the capability to build their own power armour -- they can build warp capable spaceships after all.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Are you saying that power armored kroot would be the only unit that guardsman could effectively kill in CC?

well we already established with the "100 uses for lasguns" thread that no one thinks much of their weapons lol.

Now I'm thinking of kroot in terminator armour, screeching their heads off as they can't get the blasted thing to even move.

Special Rules for Terminator Armored Kroot:

& Purposeful
I didn't write 'Slow' on purpose. When engaged in close combat, this unit becomes Inactive for the rest of the battle as they have been pushed over and can't get back up.

Terminator Kroot? WTF.
Enemy units who have a line of sight to this unit must roll a D6. A roll of a 1 means that the rolling unit cannot move or fire next turn as they are completely baffled at the sight of Kroot in Terminator armor. This does not apply to enemy units in close combat.

The Tau Empire hasn't even figured out how to pick up a power weapon. I'm pretty sure that custom built xenos armor is quite beyond their ability.

Picture this .... 10 Kroot attacking a dreadnought in CC, whacking him on the toes, trying to push him over from behind, bashing him like you do when hammering a nail, and one even climbing on his head clawing madly.

The dreadnought just stands there looking very bemused by power armoured kroot, thinking "pesky kids and their toys" WHUMMP!!!

----------

New rule!
Kroot armed with an assualt cannon +15pts (1 per squad)
When firing the assualt cannon, nominate your target and use the assualt cannon profile as normal.
Roll to hit as normal then disregard 50% of the hits (rounding up)
Allocate hits and roll to wound with saves as normal
Then ... Roll a scatter dice and 2D6, the result is the location the kroot ends up in after firing the assualt cannon and being thrown about due to its high recoil.
